I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

Speaking of Scandinavian films, you ever see Let the Right One In?

"Let the Right One In" is fantastic. Excellent modern vampire story.

That swimming pool ending was quite different. There also seems to be a sadness that permeates most of the movie. Maybe it was just the darkness of being in Scandinavia in the Winter.

@Nomad yes I have seen the bad American version, it stars Ewin McGregor if I remember right. Another great dutch film with a terrible American version is Spoorloos aka The Vanishing.  Even though both version are directed by the same person the American version is utter crap because filmmakers didn't think Americans could handle the original ending.

The ending was not exactly happy. What happens at the end of the Dutch one?

***Spoiler******* Lets just say there is no girlfriend to come to the rescue and the Jeff Bridges character gets away with it.

That is darker but the American one does not have the Bullock character returning. She is dead and not a happy ending. Yes, Sutherland lives but he finds out what he feared.

Speaking of endings, the Last American Virgin had a surprise ending. It is a remake of an Israeli film called Lemon Popsicle. True to life.

True Romance was Quinton Taratinos first script. It has a pretty interesting cast too...Christopher Walken, James Galdolfini, Christian Slater, Brad Pitt to name a few.

Nice little anecdote about True Romance. Apparently Tarantino promised Tony Scott (RIP) Pulp Fiction but then decided he wanted to direct that so he gave him True Romance instead.

Both did an amazing job with both scripts.

True Romance is one of my all-time favs.

Went and watched "Steve Jobs" yesterday. I know a lot of people are tired of the man Steve Jobs and movies about him but this movie is exceptional.  Great dialogue and Fasbender is fantastic in his role. This isn't a Bio-pic by the way but more a character sketch about an egotistical self centered prick. Most of the interactions are fictionalized speaking about actual more factual events in Steve's life.

It's Sorkin, of course the movie is great, like pretty much everything he does.  How real it is?  Who knows.  I'm still waiting for Conan to come out with a YouTwitFace movie.
