Assunção vs. Carrillo Wiki
The second televised bout of Titan FC 23 saw Freddy Assuncao take on Andrew Carillo in the featherweight division.
Assuncao landed a nice hook in an early exchange and Carillo took him down with a double leg. Carillo postured up to strike but Assuncao scrambled back to his feet. Assuncao tripped Carillo to the mat and followed him down, working from the guard. Carillo nearly pulled off an Armbar from the bottom then took Assuncao's back in a scramble. Assuncao shrugged Carillo off and the two returned to their feet. Both men threw a lot of feints with their hands and traded leg kicks, and Carillo drove in to steal another double leg in the final minute. Assuncao forced a scramble and took the top position before the bell.
Carillo worked some nice kicks to the body early in the second and avoided many of Assuncao's strikes. Assuncao hit another trip and came down with a right hand to the jaw before settling into the half guard. Assuncao searched for an Arm Triangle but Carillo fought him off and Assuncao moved to side control. Carillo scrambled to his feet and took a left hook to the chin and fell, clutching his left shoulder, which seemed to dislocate. The fight was stopped, although Carillo popped the shoulder back in quickly following the stoppage.
The end came 4:24 into the second round, giving Assuncao the TKO victory.
