Bear vs. Budig Wiki
The fourth televised bout of Titan FC 23 saw Brandon Bear take on Nick Budig at 180 lbs.
Bear landed a big outside leg kick and secured an easy takedown and fired off some big punches before settling into side control. Bear opened up a cut on Budig's forehead with an elbow and kept up a steady assault of punches and elbows, now relegated to half guard. Bear moved into full mount and fired off some punches but Budig escaped out the back door and got to his feet. Bear shot in right away and dragged him back down to the mat. Bear moved back into full mount before the bell.
The fighters boxed early in the second but only for a short time, as Bear shot in again and got a takedown. Budig got back to his feet quickly and the two went back to punching, and again Bear shot in and took him back down. Eventually Bear poured on the offense with some vicious elbows that had Budig rolling and curling up in the fetal position, prompting the referee to call a halt to the contest.
The end came 2:23 into the second round, giving Bear the TKO victory.
Speaking with Pat Miletich following the win, Bear said, "I knew he had a big right hand, so I focused on keeping my hands up, but ultimately I wanted to take him to the ground, control the position and get the finish."
