Barnaoui and Wheeler took to the cage for the first bout of the main card in the lightweight division.

Barnaoui dropped Wheeler at the start of the fight by catching a kick and landing a cross, but Wheeler got back to his feet. Barnaoui got the better of a scramble and took Wheeler's back on the feet, landing a series of punches to the sides of Wheeler's head as he searched for a choke. Finally Wheeler collapsed under Barnaoui's weight and had to fight off a series of choke attempts. Hall stood the fighters up in the final minute and Barnaoui dropped Wheeler with a lead left hand, though the Brit managed to survive to the bell.

Barnaoui clinched up with Wheeler and got an easy takedown to start the second and landed some big elbows from the close guard. Barnaoui escaped a Kimura attempt and got to full mount briefly, where he fired off some punches that landed flush before transitioning to Wheeler's back and locking in the body triangle. Barnaoui continued to pore on the offense, transitioning again to the top and damaging Wheeler's face with steady ground and pound.

The fighters traded strikes to start the third, with Wheeler getting the better of the early exchanges before the Frenchman clinched him against the cage with a body lock. Wheeler fought his way out of the clinch and the two traded strikes again, Wheeler leaving his chin exposed and taking some hard counters as he pressed forward. Barnaoui finally got the fight to the mat midway through the round but Wheeler scrambled to his feet. Barnaoui stayed on Wheeler in the clinch then dragged him back down and took his back once again in the final minute of the round, finally sinking in the choke and drawing the tap. With the win, Barnaoui became the first fighter to finish Wheeler via submission.

The official end came 4:26 into the third round, giving Barnaoui the submission victory.
