Aquitania vs. Ayala Wiki Update Wiki

Ayala and Aquintania took to the cage for the first bout of the evening.

The fighters wound up in the clinch right away and Aquintania tripped Ayala to the mat, but Ayala got back to his feet quickly in a scramble. Aquintania pushed Ayala into the fence and worked some dirty boxing then a low knee broke up the action. Ayala landed a nice leg kick then Aquintania clinched him back into the cage. Ayala secured a nice takedown near the end of the round but Aquintania got back to his feet before the bell.

Aquintania picked up in the second round where he left off, pushing Ayala into the cage before separating and looking to strike. Ayala got the better of the standing exchanges, battering Aquintania with leg kicks and some punches to the head before getting pushed into the cage again in the final minute.

Ayala attacked with hard punches that rocked Aquintania to start the final round and shook off a body clinch. Eventually Aquintania pressed his opponent back against the fence, but the maneuver seemed to be more of a stalling tactic than an attempt to finish. The fighters separated and Aquintania countered a leg kick with a flush right cross. Ayala landed a nice body kick. Aquintania landed a right hand, then another as Ayala slowed his pace. Aquintania pushed Ayala into the fence then separated and landed another right hand at the bell.

The scorecards read 29-28 Ayala, 29-28 Aquintania, and 29-28 Ayala, giving Ayala the Split Decision victory.
