This one has FOTY written all over it. Hope Greg Jackson's strategy doesn't ruin this.

Pettis is gonna make a statement. I think he's better then Guida everywhere. He'll rock Guida or get him frustrated and sub him.

Guida has never been (T)KO so I have a hard time thinking Pettis gets the first, but I think Pettis can put on a striking clinic in this fight

@soccerkick, I agree with you on that. Pettis is, in my opinion as good a striker, if not better, than just about everyone in the division (outside of Barboza and maybe Njokuani), but his power isn't 100% there. I think he beats Guida up on the feet, but I'd be surprised if he finishes him.

Prediction: correct Guida   correct Decision

Guida will confuse and frustrate just like he did against Gomi. If he starts losing on the feet, it's going to the canvas. Either way, Guida pulls out the decision.

Prediction: wrong Pettis   wrong Decision

Judging by both fighters most recent fights, Guida showed a lot of unorthodox methods that would be difficult for any fighter to figure out, as did Pettis. Pettis seems to be the quicker fighter, and that could be what makes the difference in the fight. Guida has shown some weakness to elusive quick strikers in the past. Guida's losses to Kenny Florian and Diego Sanchez has proven this. Pettis doesn't have the big stage experience that Guida does, but he has shown poise in his fights since coming to WEC. The question is, can he be just as poised in the "Super Bowl of MMA"?

I've got a gut feeling that Pettis is going to do much the same to Guida as he did to Ben Henderson. Pettis by decision.

Guida's new style will be less confusing for Pettis than it was for Gomi. When Gomi prepared he was expecting the Guida he had seen every time prior to that point. Guida came out with a new style and game plan and it confused Gomi and he couldn't adapt. Now that Pettis has seen that style he will prepare for it along with Guida's old more direct style. So he won't be caught off guard like Gomi was.

Prediction: wrong Pettis   wrong Decision

This prediction has probably been the hardest one to decide on. I think Pettis has a great style and mountains of potential, but Guida's experience, wrestling, and chin will see him to a very close decision. This one has fight of the year written all over it. I think the winner should fight Jim Miller for a title shot.

This fight has to be the one of the hardest ones to choose for me ever... i think that the stand up is about even but i think that pettis has the advantage but with guidas chin and his intense cardio and wrestling, i think that he will use his wrestling and win a close decision but this fight could go either way.

Guida will want it on the mat, and once there he will be glued to Pettis as he knows thats his best bet. Pettis has dealth with better wrestlers before albeit not at the pace Guida brings. I see Pettis catching Guida at some point then going for a RNC.

I have Pettis winning by dec right now but i think im going to change it to Pettis stopping him somehow. The fact that Guida always moves forward and takes a lot of damage will be very bad for him in this fight.

guida starts by trying to take down pettis...succeeds...wins first round....pettis learns....knees guida coming in....pounds guida....guida goes into desperation mode...tries to secure a double leg.....pettis graps the neck and doesnt let go...sub victory in 2nd rd.

Both fighters are great fighters, and definitely are no strangers to bringing an exciting fight, but I have to give Pettis a slight advantage here because, I'm sure he has to be pissed off that he hasn't fought for the UFC LW Championship yet. If he carries that aggression into his fight with Guida, then I think it's going to be a long night for Guida. Guida has had problems in the past with mobile strikers in the past. Guida was owned by Kenny Florian, IMO Pettis is a faster, better version of Florian. I have to go with Pettis by decision, but I'm going to be cheering for Clay Guida.

My brain is telling me to take Pettis.. but my gut is telling me that Guida is going to come out and go " Caveman Smash "

It will be a fun fight, I think Guida can control the fight and pressure Pettis into not having a whole lot of space to unleash his great striking. I think the larger UFC octagon can only help Pettis though.
