If Pettis' gameplan is to make this a war of attrition then he's lost this fight, Guida is a cardio freak (top of the food chain folks) and can bounce his head like a bobble head for three rounds and lay a beating on you before submitting you. Or he just breaks you down and gets the decision win.
But Petis has already faced and beaten a strong wrestler in the name of Ben Henderson. Sure that Showtime Kick (not sure if you've heard of it...) may have stole the fight in what was a back-and-forth affair. But Pettis held is own and won. Before that he beat Shane Roller, who's main discipline is wrestling.
So it comes to this...Can Pettis keep up with Guida and get him to the ground to submit him (Guida has 7 losses via submission) or at least contain Guida to get the decision win, because I don't see Pettis being the first to KO Guida. Or will the Capenter fustrate Pettis en route to a decision?
My money is on Pettis continuing his impressive run but it's going to be a hard fought battle. And possibly MOTN.
