In the post-fight conference...Cowboy said that Nate challenged him to "not do any of that gay wrestling ****" hahaha...that's why Cowboy wasn't capitalizing on those leg kick/sweeps. Cowboy said he would play him at his own game.

Cowboy is a real badass...great fight. Loved the exchange of middle finger's too.

Apparently having Nate Diaz respect his stand-up was more important than his title run.

I always think it's stupid when we find out two fighters promised each other to just use stand-up in a MIXED MARTIAL ARTS fight.

I'm not saying it would've necessarily changed the outcome, but why limit your options?

I think he also didn't really want to go to the ground with Nate anyway...

Yeah, and ultimately that was probably smart, I just think promising it to begin with is a poor tactic.

when Cerrone said that in the Post fight the look on Hendrix face was priceless.  I think he got a little pissed about Cerrone n Diaz saying wrestling is gay ****, lol

are we sure cowboy wasn't just worried about nate's bjj game? It seemed very strange that he kept letting him up like that. My impression was that he didn't want to grapple, but i guess the reason why is ambiguous. This is very hard to believe though.

I like both, but i told all my buddies who were high on Cerrone that Diaz had the edge on the ground. I think Diaz would have tapped him if it went there. Either way, great fight from these two, it was pretty awesome.

Judging by Greg Jackson's lack of composure between rounds Cerrone just kept his word. He picked a fight and stood and traded with Diaz. It was good to see, maybe he could have a talk with Anothony Johnson.

I agree with @Dake.. what a terrible tactic.. terrible promise.  This is MMA!  I think everyone here is completely under estimating Cerrone's BJJ and his wrestling.  No freaking wonder Cowboy didn't go after him in the 2nd and 3rd rounds when he was kicking Nate to the floor every 30 seconds.  Nate basically gave Cowboy a free boxing lesson while Cowboy simply obliged...

I think Nate is a little bit better than cowboy everywhere if he really thought he would have won the fight by grappling he would have done it.

I think Nate is the better boxer and that is all.  I think their BJJ darn near cancels each other out and Cerrone has much better wrestling and overall striking (obviously Nate the better boxer).

I think he was affraid of being submitted more than anything. People are making a lot of excuses for why Nate beat Donald, but I think the real reason was Nate was just better that night. A lot of people are having a hard time with that.

I don't think anyone has a problem with that, but I can tell you I have a problem with the deal/promise they made each other.  Like @Dake said, this is MMA... and I just think the whole thing stinks even more now that this dumb deal was made public they made.

What is?  Making a deal with your opponent to keep it standing no matter what?  I don't think it has anything to do with fight IQ, but more to do with pride and overall stupidity.  He lost a chance at the title.  Who knows, maybe Nate would have won regardless though.
