I love that this a discussion board but people come here to spout opinions as if they're fact. I don't personally understand why you wouldn't take on other people's points on board and then maybe re-evaluate from there but each to their own!

Elaborate on meme subs? I think technically on the group Paul is extremely tricky. The way he is able to manoeuvre his big frame and long legs, especially out of butterfly guard, and how he distracts his opponents with overhooks that also allow him to shift the frame of his opponent is so, so impressive. Especially for a guy his size to be that shifty off his back is pretty incredible.

@Ascedant I think his technique and the way he locks up the submissions are very impressive! Don’t get it twisted I think what he does is very skillful. The man is the definition of a specialist. You do not want to be on the ground with him throwing up subs

What I meant by “meme sub” is that he is getting smashed and pretty much dominated before he locks up a submission out of nowhere. It’s not meant to disparage him on his technique whatsoever. The man is legit, it’s just when that kind of thing happens that’s what I call it. Others would call it a Hail Mary

I find it funny that people on these forums see one sub-par performance in the UFC and then claim that somebody "sucks" and then their next performance they look amazing. I personally don't like to claim somebody sucks until they get to the point of Chase Sherman or Sam Alvey
