I'm also skeptical of Paddy's long term ceiling, but man... Leavitt looks like he's moving in slow motion in there. He fights like how you fight in your nightmare where everything's moving like its underwater. And he's not very strong in the grappling. Plus his standup in nonexistent.
So if Paddy can outbox you on the feet, bully you in the standing grappling, and then defend your submissions and possibly submit you, what exactly are you bringing to the table?

lol I am all for a pro fighter challenging norms and making stuffy dudes uncomfortable. But at least when Izzy does it, he's doing it with elite skills. Leavitt is trying to do it with the skills of a guy at the YMCA.

Monkey King twerking on the an unconscious Baddie in his hometown would make it possibly the greatest MMA meme moment ever. We all want it. Please let it happen.

Leavitt is being overvalued by the bookies IMO. The line difference should pretty much be identical to Wood vs Rosa.

The Blaydes-Aspinall stand off is wild. My brain can't comprehend how big Aspinall is. Blaydes just *seems* like one of the biggest dudes in the division, and Tom kinda fights in a karate crouch stance. But seeing them side by side, Tom is taller and noticeably bigger in his arms and chest.

Am I crazy for thinking klein can possibly get the upset here? I think Jones is better everywhere but idk; got a weird feeling about this one

Klein does not do well against pressure fighters. He looked very uncomfortable against Trizano's pressure. Jones is gonna bring the pressure.

I agree with all the points said by everyone but I think one interesting thing here is the stances. Southpaw (klein) vs orthodox (Jones) can make it so that klein can land that kick much easier. All it takes is one shot, you don’t need to be the better fighter. Also, he looked pretty good last time out. I know smith has lots of holes when u pressure him but that was a good win. Jones is probably the pick but it’s shaky for me

Talking about twerking and tea-bagging people is fun and helps promote the fight but let's see if he can still deliver the performance he's promising after hearing thousands of people chant "OHHHH PADDY THE BADDDDDY".
There's no way Leavitt is ready for the energy of that crowd. To be honest, I don't think any fighter really can be. There's few fighters that galvanize a capacity crowd in such a tremendous matter. Literally a handful of these guys exist in the entire sport of MMA at any given time. Paddy is one of them.

Also just gonna randomly throw this out there:
Paddy will eventually have to fight Claudio Puelles. Don't ask me why but I'm certain this fight is getting booked at some point.

I've lost money betting on Klein, and refuse to lose money betting against him. Mason Jones should win, but maybe finally the super sharp kickboxer Ludovit Klein will finally show up. He's got the skills. He just seems to wilt under pressure.

@foppa that could be a good next fight tbh. Not a gigantic step up but certainly a far tougher opponent than paddys other ufc opponents

I also just think MMA judges have a hard time with Klein's style. That moving backwards lateral circling counterpunch thing. He'll outstrike a guy 2-1 and lose the round.

@danromanick it’s not really what I see in him but more the matchup. Jones is an animal but so reliant on his chin; we’ve seen it in all his fights (minus the patrick one but that’s pretty much irrelevant cuz that was a gimmie fight), take the Onama one for example. He was expected to go in there and steamroll onama, and onama gave him absolute hell for three rounds. Obviously, onama has turned out to be a very promising guy, but he does have holes in his game. It showed that if you brawl with jones, despite that crazy chin, he can be hurt at times and when klein lets his hands go, he can hit really hard (I mean just look at the guy he’s built like a fridge). I agree with the point earlier about how klein wilts under pressure, and we all know jones beings crazy pressure but idk I think if he lets his hands go he could cause some problems. I still have jones in the fight and I think he’s better everywhere but I just don’t think we should all be like “he’s gonna streamroll this guy” because we could get another David onama situation. Also, I thought he beat mike Davis too
