Too bad this is an apex card tho. Luckily it’s only one of two (the other being santos vs hill (pissed about this one being in the apex)) for the next two months so that’s good at least

Why is Cody Durden the underdog? JP Buys isn't very good. Also, I like Shayilan Nuerdanbieke as a dog against Brown. I honestly thought Kai Kamaka beat him and Charles Rosa isn't very good tbh.

That fight is at a pickem currently. That’s what it should be; it’s either Cody early finish or buys late sub

Ahh, I’m sure that will close to pickem. Buys shouldn’t be a favorite over anyone tbh. He’s ass

Also I have Tsarukyan winning, but I think the odds are a little disrespectful to Gamrot. I honestly think he should still be undefeated rn and anything +200 or over is just essentially saying it is not going to be competitive.

I wanted to pick gamrot but I’m 0-5 on the last 5 main events so take my pick with a grain of salt. I think no matter who I pick, the guy I have will loze

Thoughts on the Main Event

Predictions: 7 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 440 Points   |   Tied for 1370th

It's a very interesting matchup: both have a great wrestling background, grappling knowledge, and both have already shown KO power in their hands (Gamrot knocking out Holtzman and Tsarukyan knocking out Giagos). Both are fighters who have made their way up the rankings with no fake hype, no meme finish, no facing heinz cans who clearly weren't up to par (both have even faced fighters on short notice or no long camps), no ducked opponents, no unnecessary trash. talk, not meaningless call-out. They both have a great technical level and know how to use their techniques so my expectation is that it will be an incredible fight to watch and with an excellent technical level.

The only thing I don't like about this fight is that I feel like a Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot could perfectly happen when both were at the door of a title shot, perfectly the UFC a few months ago could schedule Tsarukyan vs. Chandler and Gamrot vs. Ferguson and the UFC would have 2 new contenders, but I imagine that it was not convenient for the business to have Chandler on a 3-fight losing streak and Feguson on a 4-fight losing streak, to boost 2 fighters who do not have such a striking personality and who come from from countries that may not be as big of an immediate market as Armenia and Poland (although Poland has had UFC champions like Joanna and Jan).

Lastly, I can highlight that Gamrot's finish against Ferreira was a spectacular technique (connecting a knee to the rib from practically a blind spot, when they were in the scramble) and Tsarukyan in his debut managed to make a close fight in short notice to Islam Makhachev ( when Islam has outclassed good fighters like Drew Dober, Dan Hooker and Bobby Green in his last 3 fights). Both Tsarukyan and Gamrot were surprised with the news that their fight would be 5 rounds in the middle of camp, so maybe that could be a determining factor in the fight.

Tsarukyan is better in all segments of the fight and I don't think he should have any problems, the only places where Gamrot can threaten him are the submissions from the bottom position, which is excellently defended by Tsarukyan, who has already shown a brutal defense against submissions. Physically he is much superior, his stand up is much better because he is more diverse and moves on his toes. Gamrot is more of a punch based on short combinations that Tsarukyan will easily undo with his moves and punish from the exit. He will catch his kicks and go for control, he will be careful on the floor and he will throw short elbows. 50 - 43 Tsarukyan

Arman Tsarukyan by DEC

I know this sounds crazy to say but I think demopolous could actually get ko’ed. watching tape on frey and she actually hits decently hard. Demopolous’s idea of striking defense is to block punches with her forehead. I know it’s a reach but I mean there is a significant gap in skill level tbh (yes, frey isn’t good but demopolous is horrible)

It really does sound impossible but I mean her lack of striking defense is just insane. Loopy had her hurt every. Single. Round when they fought. Freys counter left is quite effective and has a lot of power behind it. I don’t see her having trouble finding the mark considering demopolous doesn’t move her head whatsoever. Think imma take the risk on frey ko here ngl

No worries lol. Glad most events are in front of a live crowd despite how much I also like the quiet and calm field of the Apex

@saikou ya same. I actually don’t mind the apex but cards in front of a crowd are just something different. The energy is insane

I didn’t realize Tafon and Ulberg had the same reach, I liked Tafon’s chances of winning this fight to begin with but now I’m even more confident he’s coming out with the W Saturday.

A few minutes ago someone took the W and the belt... and was 10cm shorter than his opponent... so and his reach... ! The reach advantage doesn't means anything...
it's only to "reach" the plates from the top shelf... !
