Bruh Darren Stewart is such a clown smh, if he had actually learned how to defend a takedown/get up properly he could’ve been in the PFL right now instead of Stanton. I honestly hope he’s considering retirement.

Stanton ragdolled him mate? Everyone talks like he isn’t any good but who matches Micks quality of intensity? Not many at all and certainly not Darren, can’t talk **** and call someone, basically a tin can when he just ragdolled a guy for 15 minutes who was in the UFC and had one last chance to sort his career out against an “easy opponent”. Really think you need to stop being a casual talking bollocks saying he should just “get up” when your pinned against a quality wrestler like Mick, same man who went toe to toe with Owen Livesly (one of if not the best grapplers in the UK scene) and even he couldn’t contain Mick. He is now taking this short notice in a division up in his first fight in a new promotion? Shows alot more heart than 99% of fighters these days, win or lose he deserves to be fighting in the bigger promotions over the likes of Darren Stewart

Look at the level of these “regional fighters” the times between losses, who they lost to, how they lost etc. and look at them now, on win streaks, beating guys supposedly they should get beaten by yet they are dominating? Hardly not building their promotion when signing real tough fighters, not guys with padded records who end up being no good and wasting opportunities on people that are actually deserving of the opportunity

If they want to be taken seriously as a top tier promotion they need to sign large amounts of prospects relative to the established talent; Guys who have between 0-3 losses and still relatively young. Then when they beat established fighters like Rory they get a little bit of shine. Signing 9-6 guys like Stanton or guys with tons of losses to regional guys like Chadwick is not going to make anyone think they have some of the best fighters.

Picking up guys that dont get picked on DWCS or getting good unsigned fighters us the way to go. Even the challenger series was a good idea to break in that new talent. I'm not saying forego veterans but if the entire promotion is UFC castaways and regional vets than it becomes uninteresting and 3rd tier by default.

I looked at Chadwicks losses and they are all to guys who are either second tier in Bellator or regional guys who never became anything. And his opponent isn't much better to be honest so at least it's a fair matchup. Andy Clamp would have been a better signing. More Simeon Powell and less of this.

Stanton has literally just came off 2 massive wins against a young prospect and a UFC “vet” in Darren Stewart, ragdolled both fighters and won both fights convincingly, as I said in the other comment if you watch BJJ, grappling etc you would have saw Mick compete against Owen Livesly one of the best Grapplers in the UK fight now, literally abuses everyone he comes up against but not Mick had a really competitive matchup. Shows the level he is at, taking this on short notice on his new contract shows exactly the level and quality it takes to be a real fighter. Same with Lee, the sub on Macedo in Bellator unbelievable showing of his quality. Same against arunas, some up and coming talent Lee beat I think convincingly. Both guys learning on the job, I agree they are older and there is always downsides for that but, they are only getting better? And against better competition, Mick used to drain himself to 170 unfortunate losses/close fights same with Lee, should all of learned from the Charles Olivera that you don’t need to have incredible records to become the best. Not saying they are that level/or yet but give guys slack when they are warriors, win or lose being proper fighters. Thats what its all about

You can only fight what is infront of you. Whats offered, never turn away fights, they both train in ASW. Resurgence to their careers since being with that gym they have both became well rounded fighters. Looking at tapology records doesn’t show how the fights went etc alot of losses that I watched of lee’s were poor decisions or close losses. Or against the quality of Fabian Edwards (hard comp) same with Mick since being at Middleweight he has transformed his career into an underdog that continues to surprise everyone. Trained with Mick myself and I can’t think of a fella more hard working and deserving for the opportunity to fight in the PFL from the regional scene right now. Shown that especially in his last 2 fights especially. As for Lee he is a vet that from what I have watched is just game ready and is continually working to be better and progressively proved that over his career

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then as I'm of the opinion that they are not good. They might be decent against the level they've been fighting but the guys PFL already has are leagues above them in skill. I think Stanton, Mysiala, chadwick, Wojcik, will wash out quickly.

Marcin Wójcik, TKO, R2
Wojcik needs to bring this into the later rounds and look for his overhand with Stanton coming in on short notice.
