Prediction Comments

Predictions: 5 of 7 Winners, 4 Perfect, 350 Points   |   Tied for 12th with 7 others

Park vs. Oshiro
Si Woo Park, DEC
I remember being stunned when I saw Mizuki Oshiro beat Satoko Shinashi but I feel that may have been a one off upset. Si Woo Park on the other hand, has put together a very impressive and consistent run of 4 straight wins and I can see her making it 5.

@thebluedash

Good to know I'm not the only one picking a lot of decisions! With most of the fights being evenly matched and fights only being 2 rounds, it seems the most likely outcome for a lot of them.

@Stephen Terry
Who's your favorite to win the tournament? I kinda like Sakura Mori as a dark horse pick.

@thebluedash

I'm going to pick Si Woo Park to win. Here's how I think that table will play out (winners of the fights are in bold):

1st Round

Emi Sato VS Hikaru Aono
Sakura Mori VS Aya Murakami
Si Woo Park VS Mizuki Oshiro
Saori Oshima VS Emi Tomimatsu

2nd Round

Hikaru Aono VS Sakura Mori
Si Woo Park VS Saori Oshima

3rd Round

Sakura Mori VS Si Woo Park

Winner =  Si Woo Park

Si Woo Park is definitely the favorite to win tourney from what I have seen from other people and it's very understandable, shes been on a nice streak..
I am picking Sakura Mori or Murakami to win. Very unfortunate they are matched against eachother right away lol. Both are very good submission artists that I believe will be hard for the girls in the bracket to deal with.

@thebluedash

Yeah, I don't like picking the favourites all the time but in this case I think she is the most likely to win. It's still a fairly well matched tournament so Mori still has a decent chance in it.

Murakami probably seems like a weird pick as she has only one win. But shes a black belt in BJJ and trains at a great gym. So definitely a possible dark horse winner.

@thebluedash

It's just a question of fight experience with her. I'm sure that if she can get her opponants on the mat then she could be dangerous but as the old saying goes "the fight always starts standing up" and I'm sure her opponants will try and keep it that way if they know what's good for them. She will always be looking for the takedown but to do that, she'll have to defend against strikes first so it's just a question of whether her striking defence is as good as her ground game but like you said, it's unfortunate that she's got a tough fight against Mori straight away.
