Nothing about the MMA landscape will change until the Ali Act is broadened to include MMA.Then all the mutants in threads like this can complain about the fact the best never fight the best as is exactly what happens in professional Boxing and proceed to beg for the 'monopoly' to come back.  Unions are not the answer and typically never are. They simply become new nests of corruption. Don't believe me? Look up how the Mafia had control of places like New York and Chicago during its heyday.

Too bad used to be a Lil heathen fan.

Wish they booked him vs Michael Johnson but kind of deserved with the losing streak and the klose incident. He was always exciting tho I thought it was funny he once fought Aldo for a title eliminator 

michael johnson should get cut too. hes 3-9 in his last 12 and holds a 19-17 mma record .

last 5 men he fought were absolute killers..

The Ali act has nothing to do with why the 'best don't fight the best'. Also I find that whole narrative completely bizarre considering just last year we had 4 undisputed matches and 3 new unified Champions.

@casual of course it does. It means that fighters can't be locked into any single promotion contractually. What this does is give fighters a lot more leverage to pick who they fight--and more importantly, when. Remember how long it took for Mayweather to fight Pacquiao? Joshua and Fury still haven't fought, may never fight. Crawford still hasn't got a genuinely prime elite scalp under his belt. Still hasn't fought ESJ. You think either of them want Boots? Why would they when they can take easy fights for big money?

You might not like the lack of promotional diversity in MMA, but say what you want about the UFC, it is very effective in concentrating talent and forcing it to fight on a schedule that ensures the fans see the best fight the best in their prime.

You can have the fighters with more leverage, more power and autonomy and have ****tier fights on a ****tier schedule, or you can have the promotion with more power and leverage and have better fights on a better schedule.

But you can't have both.

Make a choice.

im all in on anything that pisses dana white off. it doesnt matter. i was a woodley fan for just that reason, every time he won dana had a meltdown, when woodley beat till it was beautiful. same with francis, dana wanted gane to win so bad. if jake paul can be a big thorn in dana's side for the next couple of years thats great, if some good comes from it then thats even better.

All of those companies are literally engaged right now in what you would consider slave labour and are torturing animals to bring you a slightly better version of pain relief than what currently exists. Fury was suspended from boxing from '16-'18 and subsequently was stripped of his belt.  After such a long layoff he ended up fighting Wilder for a belt and locked himself into a two fight deal. Since the draw wasn't considered a proper outcome he was still stuck into a two fight contract. Fury vs Joshua was scheduled to happen in Saudi Arabia but Fury's team never wanted to pay the legal compensation for Wilder to step aside so Fury-Wilder III was made. The Ali act had nothing to do with the two not fighting, just circumstance. 

Crawford just defeated Porter, someone who previously never had a non-controversial loss as far as the score cards concern, and defeated Kell Brook & Amir Khan. Why has Crawford not fought Spence? Probably due to Spence being in a car accident, needing time to rehab and now is dealing with retina detachment. Crawford isn't a victim of some supposed flaw of the Ali Act, but intense circumstance. Had he stayed undisputed he could've had a number of high level fights, had Spence not ejected out of his Ferrari they probably would be scheduled to fight right now, had Manny not lost to Horn he'd probably fought him for the belt, etc. What has Boots done to make you believe that this generations greatest talent is supposedly afraid of him, defeat fringe contender Sergey Lipinets?
