Pretty pathetic to come in that far over your fight weight.  Why even bother showing up and getting on the scale?  He should have just been honest and said that he was no where near the limit.  Also, what was his team thinking letting him stay so big?  Ridiculous.  That makes his whole camp look completely stupid.

if this thing about being sick is verified it may change some opinions, I guess I will refrain from blasting Rumble till that is either verified or proven to be ********

Whoever gave me thumbs down should realize that the news about him having some type of medical issue hadn't been released yet, or at least I hadn't seen it yet.  If you're giving me thumbs down because I said that his weight issues made his camp look stupid, then clearly you haven't competed.  My coach takes pride in the fact that none of his fighters have ever not made weight.  If I remember correctly, I believe that no Team ROC competitor has ever come in overweight.  Your camp is responsible for helping you make it to the fight, and if you can't make the weight requirements, then they have failed to do their part.  In prep for my fight, my guys wouldn't let me stop cutting in the sauna until I could get on the scale at the right weight.

Dehydrating your body makes you sick. It's a natural occurrence as your body dehydrates which is why some fighters chose not to do it. Being dehydrated causes headaches, Fever,  fatigue, and kidney failure. If 197 is his fully hydrated weight it's not to bad and he's not excessively large, it would actually make him about an average MW. It's better it's not from a lack of trying but from his body started shutting down. It just looks bad for a fighter who has a history of missing weight.

@RW no thumbs down from this guy.

Will be interesting to see what happens if he is over 205 tomorrow, will Vitor really not take the fight?????

Worst part is, no good can come out of this, AJ already spoiled the real main event of the night; If AJ wins it wont carry any merit bc he has a 20+ lbs advantage on Vitor. If Vitor wins, it is because AJ was sick, not committed, overweight and had a bad camp.

At this point this fight shouldn't even happen and AJ should be banned from the sport forever.

No one will be happy with tomorrow night regardless of the outcome. Except maybe, Vitor's wife ($).

Yeah, apparently Rumble was sick so at least has an excuse for not making weight. But being sick and having to weigh in on the day of the fight means that Vitor will probably have his way.

After reading the article im a bit less irritated by it, but still its pretty damn stupid.  He pushed himself too far with cutting weight and thats what caused the issue assuming i read the article correctly.  Still his fault whether he tired or not.

@picker it's linked about 10 posts up.

it sounds like he was already within a couple pounds of 185, so he'll really not have any larger size advantage over vitor than if nothing went wrong and he made weight.

Also, I don't think Rumble feeling sick is a legit excuse. Yeah, he has one, but it kind of sucks. The most likely reason for him feeling sick is because he was cutting so much damn weight and has been cutting so much for so very long.

Oh poor Rumble!!  He's been cutting ridiculous weight for so long to fight smaller guys that his body gave out this time!  Boo ****** hoo!  Fight at the correct weight class.  I don't have any respect for that guy.  I hope some lucky fan gets to take his head home when Belfort sends it flying out of the octagon.  WAR VITOR.

I actually think the extra weight and his wrestling is gonna help him win like he did vs Dan Hardy...cage grappling for takedowns with a little striking. Switched to Johnson.
