Belfort is a beatable guy. He is 34 and has been fighting for a long time. Eventually age becomes a factor. I wasn't impressed with his win over Akiyama. Johnsons a scary dude. He doesn't have to cut 40 pounds this time around which means he should be stronger and in much better shape. He also trains with Rashad Evans and the Blackzilians.

It would be STUPID to think it's an easy fight for either fighter.

Super close match up. Advantage in striking goes to Belfort, advantage in grappling to Johnson. Stat breakdown at: http://www.breakdownfights.com/?p=2586. Not sure who pulls out the win, but I know someone is getting FINISHED

Vitor will be too fast and his takedown defense will be quite good. I think Anthony will still get tired though. Overeem's cardio did not change when he went up I don't believe Anthony's will.

I thought about this fight for some reason before i fell asleep yesterday. I still think Vitor takes it, but I really think Rumble can make waves at 185, even if he loses. He makes a lot more waves if he takes this one, regardless how he does it.

I kind of expect Rumble to use the same strategy he did against Dan Hardy. I really don't think he'll try to trade punches with Belfort. Especially considering Belfort has been held down in the past on multiple occasions.

That's what I'm thinking too @bigj
He might try and stand with him in round 1 and won't be comfortable, then take him down and hold him down for the decision.

Who has been KO'd more in their careers? (chin question)
Who's cardio will be put to test more? young vs. old....
Who's got wrestling advantage? Takedowns? and TDD?
Who has strength and/or size adv.?
Who has better training partners?
Who has reach and or height adv.?
If goes to a decision, whos lost most by dec? (usually reflects cardio or bad gp)
Submissions are not in the equation... Vitors last sub win in 2001 and Johnson doesnt have any.

Based upon these questions.... I pick Johnson.... but this fight can go either way with a KO.

Changed my pick to Rumble..........He'll probably end up doing exactly what he did to Hardy!

Interesting. It's 60/40 here but Sherdog's MMA Pickem' has it 50/50. I think if Rumble stands with Vitor in the 1st, he goes down. Best bet would be to wrestle him early. I still think Vitor will be too much for him. We're talking about a guy who fought HWs and LHWs most of his career and whose wrestling is underrated imo.

Still think Rumble can be a top 10 MW and maybe even better but this a terrible 1st fight.

I think Rumble is going to try for that takedown right away but I think Belfort is going to stuff him and the TKO is going to happen shortly after. Never bet against a brazilian in brazil unless his name is Luis Cane!

There will be at least one eyepoke (Anthony Johnson attracts them) and punches to the back of the head. Vitor will be Victor that night.

Honestly. I tossed all possibility of Rumble losing at the weigh in. I thought his only chance was his size, and he didnt even look THAT much bigger than Belfort ... like at all. Im confident in my pick.
