Here's another great Jack Slack article from Fightland about this fight and more specifically about Texeira's tendencies.

I love Jack Slack's writing. I haven't read anything since he went to work for Vice, but I will read this when I get home tonight.

Glover is not 6'2,.more like 6ft. Is the UFC just like WWE? They hype " walk around weight" way up and make their fighters heights falsely tall.

Really? As.bad as the UFC though? UFC had Guses.reach.at 76.5 inches when it's apparently 82.3 or something.  6'8 Browne, 6'5 Carwin, 220lb Hendricks, 300+lb Lesnar, 200lb Maynard...You get it.

Johny Hendricks is exaggerating and he's talking about his weight before training. I don't know if you've seen his pictures in the middle of training camp, but he's a fat dude. His frame is good for welterweight, he shouldn't move anywhere.

I've thought quite a bit about this fight. The one thing I fear the most for Jones, is that he's coming into this fight with the right mindset. On the countdown, Jones said that he's been training the same way that he has for all of his fights, stating, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

The problem with that mindset, is that if he's doing the same training regimen as he did preparing for Gustafsson (who barely outpointed, and some feel Gustafsson won), then he's making a HUGE mistake with Teixeira. I'm hoping that Jones was just saying that to throw off Teixeira, and give him and his camp a false sense of hope, and that Jones will bring something to the table that we haven't seen like what he did when he first came to the UFC.

This was a hard pick for me, because I'm a big fan of both fighters, but thinking about what both fighters bring to the table, I'm going with Teixeira because he can end a fight with one punch, but if the fight gets out of the 3rd round, I think that Jones will win by decision or late round TKO.

When fighters say they train the same for every fight, I think they are referring to the structure of their camp. I can almost guarantee that Jones didn't train for Machida the same way he did for Gustafsson. Greg Jackson isn't stupid, he's not gonna let him do the same **** in every camp.

BUT, I do detect some complacency/arrogance from Jones. And that will ultimately be his downfall. I don't think Glover will be the man to dethrone him, but it's coming. After that razor thin decision over Gus, he should be extremely motivated to improve. He hasn't been giving off that vibe.

Then again who knows. Maybe he worked his ass off and he's just playing it cool for the media,. We'll find out tonight.

I don't think there's any complacency with Jones at this point. Possibly before the Gus fight yes but not now. Having that close fight with Gus just made Jonny Bones an even bigger nightmare for the LHW division. Jones has had to listen to everybody talking about how good Gus was in that fight and some thought he got beat and I think Jones has been carrying that around with him in training and he will carry that with him into the cage against Glover. Bones will make a statement tonight and remind everyone why he's the #1 p4p fighter on the planet.

I dont necessarily disagree with you, P4P, but at the same time, I think the fact that Gus nearly beat Jones, gives all the contenders even more confidence against Jones to know he is beatable, and that aura isnt really there anymore.

That could definitely be the case jitz but after tonight I think that aura will return and there will be bunch of 205ers hoping Bones makes that jump to HW sooner rather then later.

I don't understand how people think Teixeira could win. Other than a lucky punch, there is literally no way Teixeira could beat Jones.

Even then, that lucky punch is gonna be a ******* pain-in-the-ass to land. Like I have always said, Teixeira's boxing isn't good. He uses two punches all the time, there is nothing unless to him.
