Polish MMA Thread

Tapology member Halny has started to send us a lot of updates about happenings in Polish MMA.  He's never posted in the forums, but I'm encouraging him to come here and start providing updates on cards and fighters in Poland.  There's a lot going on in that country!

Believe me they are. They sale 15 thousand seats arena in few days and also PPV numbers are going up recently. Mamed is their main deal. People in Poland love him.

It's salary per fight + money from sponsors.. It has probably changed (for more money), because information is from 2013.

RUMOUR: According to whoatv.com Jan Błachowicz vs. Jim Manuwa.  UFC in Poland?

Only OFFICIAL is that Manuwa's fight is going to be announced on Friday (from Manuwa's Fanpage)

I wonder what the main event for the UFC there would be.

Maybe if Joanna Jedrzejczyk beats Esparza for the belt, she would main event the card?  Just throwing a hypothetical out there.

GreenHornet553, if UFC Poland 's date is April, there is no possibility to have Jedrzejczyk on card. It will be month after fight with Esparza, too short.... She probably is not like Donald Cerrone;) 

More probable is Manuwa vs. Błachowicz as main event.

Mateusz Strzelczyk (6-4-1) is going to fight on ACB 13 with Arbi Agujev (15-6). Mateusz is a replacement for Albert Odzimkowski.

Mateusz Zawadzki vs. Kamil Gniadek on KSW 30, undercard. This fight is probably for staying in KSW.

Now is one fight in undercard (earlier 2), but I don't know anything about reason or it's permament change on this show.

@mmammag Which Polish fighters do you think will go over to the United States and fight in UFC or Bellator next?

@GreenHornet553, there is a lot. My list the best fighters:

- Marcin Tybura, which is now M-1 HW Champion, but he should fight in UFC (maybe 2016?)
- Oskar Piechota, tallented MW fighter,
- Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Invicta FC fighter,
- Michał Włodarek, good KSW HW fighter with wrestling background. If he avoids injuries, he can fight everywhere.
-  Borys Mańkowski, now KSW WW champion, but probably in the future can go to USA (if he is not like Khalidov;))
- Mateusz Gamrot, the same situation like Borys 
- maybe Tomasz Drwal can return to UFC. He told in "Puncher" (MMA and Boxing polish TV show) that his contract with KSW has a lot options and isn't restrictive. Maybe he has on mind that he can go to UFC if they want to have Tomasz on card.

Remember that Antoni Chmielewski asked UFC about posibility to fight in this organization.

I want to see Jakub Kowalewicz (LW) and Bartosz Fabinski (WW) in UFC.

Of course, KSW has a lot fighters which should fight on UFC, but they pay good money and fighters like Mamed Khalidov, Michał Materla or Karol Bedorf don't' want to be UFC or Bellator fighters.

We talked about Mamed on the previous page. Bedorf, Materla and all KSW fighters has the same dilema.

There was a rumour year ago that Bedorf got offer from UFC (he was on one of the european UFC event) and he refused it due to money.

Michal Materla told about UFC, but in 2014 there was a conflict between him and KSW owners, which was finished by singing a new contract. Rumours said that the deal blocks Materla from UFC.

KSW pays very well and their polish stars don't want to choose UFC due to amount of money. Mankowski and Gamrot talk about UFC, but it could be changed in the future.

According to Wojsław Rysiewski and Piotr Pędziszewski (KSW/MMARocks.pl), UFC gonna announce forth fights on Monday for the UFC Cracow

Mateusz Gamrot vs Rodrigo Cavalheiro Correia on KSW 30! 

Michał Fijałka became a competitor of Absolute Championship Berkut  LHW Grand Prix.

Jacek Czajczyński in ACB HW Grand Prix.

Both GP planned to start on ACB 14.

On Tuesday (not Monday) we have announced fights for UFC Poland:

Leon Edwards vs. Seth Baczynski
Daniel Omielańczuk vs. Anthony Hamilton 

Maciej Górski (10-6) vs. Sebastian Romanowski (9-4-1) on XCage7/PLMMA 50.

Górski is a former KSW LW Champion.

PS: Ofc Omielańczuk vs. Hamilton is still unofficial, not announced by UFC
