@Anik huh ? Maia ended the fight with a takedown, that should tell you something about his power wrestling suplex wizard BJJ style...

The fact that Fitch got caught in 23 subs in his UFC career alone would make me switch my pick to Maia in a heartbeat. Because guess what he never fought a BB like Maia before

(BB stands for BJJ BEAST in his case, normally it stands for black belt)

If Maia gets Fitch's back like BJ Penn and Silva did, it will be over. At that point, Maia's JJ is so refined that anyone is submittable. I hope he does get the SUB.

@dielegende23 You make it sound like Maia power-doubled Kim so hard that he broke his spine. Kim awkwardly fell on his side, got injured and then Maia just took advantage of the Kim injury. I want to see a rematch of that fight just to prove how wrong you are.

He's been caught in 23 submissions of all kinds and he has yet to submit. I think that says a lot about Jon Fitch if anything.

@amp112 BJ Penn had Fitch's back for a grand total of 10 seconds before Fitch reversed it and then proceeded to put on one of the most dominant 5 minutes in the history of the UFC. Silva had his back and what happened? Fitch gave everyone watching a thumbs up 'cause he knew there was no way Silva could do anything and guess what, he didn't.

JON FITCH GREATEST OF ALL TIME. RECOGNIZE.

@Trae care for a double bet ? Brazil vs US ? I take Maia and Aldo you take Fitch and Edgar since you are so sold on both guys

If we each get on right it's a draw if Maia and Aldo win (most likely) then I win your av for a week ?

Huh what you say ???

I don't even care who wins. This is easily the most interesting match up Fitch has ever had outside of GSP.

@Trae nah not a whole month let's say 2 weeks then, sig av and location. In case of a draw nothing happens...

@Anik sure but I remember we had an av bet only one time (that's what really counts imo) and I also remember who won it

I think Maia will be able to nullify any offense from Fitch on the ground but I doubt Maia will be able to sub him so it should be Fitch by dec. from his strong top control.

Prediction: wrong Fitch   wrong Decision

For the true Fitch fan, the true significance of this fight is who a win would qualify Jon Fitch to fight.

There are 2 distinct menus.  One is the hard-core contender list, the second is the soft semi-contender list.

If Jon Fitch wins in good style, and the UFC continues to offer him the second menu, that tells us that Dana White cannot get past his Fitch *****.  If they offer him someone who is a hard contender, they have.

The Hard Contender List: Condit, Diaz, MacDonald, Hendricks

The Soft Semi-Contender List: Ellenberger, Kampmann, Kim, Marquardt, Simpson, Cote, Saffiedine, Siyar Bahadurazda, Story.

I predict that Dana cannot get past his *****.  He will continue to throw opponents to Jon who will not in any way advance his re-establishing his #2 credentials ever again.

Maybe Dana's eye problems are the Right Hand of God whispering in his ears to him to do the right thing.

"Love God, live with honor, keep your agreements."
