Both fighters looked very impressive in their last fights. To see a revived John Fitch was refresing and to see Maia get back to dedicating himself to a submission base as well. Fitch is pretty much impossible to submit, but if anyone can do it it would probably be Maia, however I am gonna say Fitch for a decision win here.

If this is decided on the feet, I think Maia takes it. Fitch will want this on the ground, even with a 4th degree black belt. If anyone could submit Fitch, Maia would be the one to do it.

Pullin for my boy Fitch. I think he's got a chance to beat him up while not being subbed which could demoralize Maia and grind out a onesided win

There's no submitting fitch. I say Maia makes the same mistake as silva and gets finish by fitch via late TKO stoppage.

One of Silva's problems is that he went a little wild at times. Maia is a very reserved fighter. The only time I've ever seen Maia make a fatal mistake was against Marquardt. Fitch's striking is nowhere near Marquardt's and Maia learned from that loss.

What a ****** matchup. Everyone says Fitch can't be submitted, but he's never fought Demian Maia. It's very possible. I don't think anyone is unsubmittable, Fitch is just incredible with defending subs, regardless what spot he's in. It will be interesting to see how this one ends.

If there's someone who could submit Fitch, it's Demian Maia.

There are some idiots out there (not gonna name any usernames but he's probably downing this post as we speak) who think Fitch's jiu-jitsu is bad but it's very excellent. Maia's is just on a completely different level though.

Also, I'm really starting to get annoyed by this hypocritical twist from the MMA community. If Fitch wins, I hope he does via Fitching. That'll sort out the weeds.

I think the odds should be on Fitch side, he is a more complete fighter, Maia excels at BJJ but Fitch has the best BJJ defense in MMA, has better striking and is a much better wrestler, so he can control where does the fight takes place, I think Maia will put him in trouble a couple of times but in the end Fitch takes the fight by UD
