Ok then can you tell me which heavyweights prospects are better than him?

"He may be fast and explosive but all you have to do is survive and he will punch himself out"

That applies to most explosive heavyweights, even the good one. How many heavyweights in the UFC have more than 5 minutes of cardio if they throw more than 10 strikes a minute.

Which heavyweight prospects? Well gee for starters the whole top 15.

I’d probably pick guys like nascimento, Mayes, Hamdy, buday, waldo, both tafa’s, parkin, etc. over him

To me aslan is another Walt Harris. Looks super explosive then loses after round 1. Walt Harris is dog****, I expect aslan to have a similar career

The Ibo fight is listed at 205, is that not accurate? Because while I agree that he’s not what I would call a “good” prospect, he has enough plus traits to be a bottom feeder at 205 I think. I know both him and Renato are not good but Renato’s fight with Pogues last year was so bad there’s just no way I’m not gonna at least put something against him.

@meluka yeah I can’t pick Renato either. Just don’t think aslan is very good at all

yeah tbh I don’t feel like any of the guys on this card are like, high level prospects other than George. Everyone else has some sort of deficiency to their game imo but I guess it should make for good fights

Agree. This is a pretty weak lineup. Even hardwick I think will hit a wall in the ufc. He is by far the best guy on this episode tho. The rest I don’t see going far at all. Maybe smotherman but he is super green

Well Im obviously talking about the regional scene. But let's take those heavyweights you mentioned for example.

Hayes, I'm sorry but this guy is terrible in every area of MMA. His only attribute is that he's a good athlete. There's zero process or coherence behind his game.

Buddy, despite being 4-0 in the UFC. I don't think you can be impressed him. Him having success in the UFC is a proof that heavyweight is a wasteland.

Waldo, I like him a bit because he does have a decent hands, output, and speed for a Heavyweight. But my guy can't do anything against leg kicks and is pillowfisted. You can't tell me aslan doesn't have a decent chance of just TKO'ing him with leg kicks.

Hamdy, I will give you that. He's a genuinely good Heavyweight prospect but he also got busted for roid and out for 2 years.

"To me aslan is another Walt Harris. Looks super explosive then loses after round 1. Walt Harris is dog****, I expect aslan to have a similar career"

And Walt Harris is ranked in the top 10 at one point, this basically prove all of my point.

@jodra well buday I am not impressed with, but he’s big a has good cardio. He could very very easily grind out Aslan with cage pushing & we saw he can grapple somewhat last fight. Mayes, yeah he’s **** but again he’s fast and athletic, I could see him grinding out or koing aslan. Waldo would definitely beat him. Sure there’s the leg kicks but waldo pushes a crazy pace. He would have aslan tired as hell after round 1

Yeah Walt Harris was ranked, but look who he fought to get there; his best win was geriatric oleinik. Sure he reached the top 10 but the guy is also 13-10, aka not a good fighter. Also comparing him to Harris does not mean aslan will be ranked; I’m comparing him to Harris in that he is explosive for 3 minutes then gives up and loses

Yeah Walt Harris is **** but he was still ranked in the top 10 at one point because he's athletic and big.

Hayes, Buddy, Waldo.

They're all not good or deeply flawed.

Do you see my point? Heavyweight is a terrible division. Being just a good athlete and slightly knowing how to abuse it would carry you a long way in heavyweight.

Which is my original point about Aslan. He's jacked, athletic, powerful, fast. And can throw decent leg kicks. You cant tell me he won't have success in the UFC heavyweight division with just these attributes and limited skills.

I get your point, but I really don’t think this guy will do much in the ufc. Maybe he nukes a bunch of people pavlovich style but I don’t hold out much hope for these one round or bust guys; it’s an extremely exploitable style

Regardless whether you think he would have success in the UFC, My original post is talking about how some of you are saying aslan doesn't deserve to be in dwcs which I disagree with. Because you can't find more than a few Heavyweight prospects in the regional scene who  are better than him.

Why everybody speaking of Aslan as of heavyweight. He always fought in LHW, and here his bout announced as 205 lbs.

Why Petrino fight was eye opening? Petrino is a freak of an athlete, and Turkalj made it close.

@AyyLmaonnaise

The one fight on here I am staying away from is the Hyder Amil fight.  33 years old vs 31 years old at feartherweight for two ufc prospects?  That just seems odd to me.  No matter who wins, either guy is going to be on the clock to do something, if anything.  Seems greasy.  I wouldn't be shocked either way that one goes.  Good analysis.  I get why Hyder Amil is favored but beyond anything you touched on, I'm not thrilled with how a lot of newer LFA fighters are doing in the jump up to the big show or DWCS.  It has been a bit disappointing the last couple years.

@thepro sonmez vs amil is a very ugly fight. Amil is a crazy brawler but has a lot of flaws. Sonmez doesn’t impress me but at least he can wrestle

Also lmfao Renato vs aslan is at 205. Both guys should be at that weight class but doubt they will do much

@AyyLmaonnaise
The Chase Gibson knockout was a good time.  But I don't know where Gibson's head was at during that fight with everything personal that was going on in his life.  I think Hyder Amil could definitely get the dub.  I'm just not confident on either side enough to make any bet or even a confident pick.
