Maybe a lot of people question the stoppage, but Erosa didn't have an intelligent defense and when Tognoni intervenes it probably saved Erosa from finishing unconscious. Worst pair is that Erosa survives to the knockdown, first he tried to grapple (good idea), but then when he was hurt again he tried to find to force the exchange to try to find the comeback punch or at least stop Padilla's offense (terrible idea). It is incredible how many good strikers with good grappling point guards cut their career longevity by trading in the pocket when they are hurt or outright after a clear knockdown.

PS: Tognoni has had a good year as a referee with good decisions in stoppage, point deduction and making fighters active during the fight.

No shade to Cody, but I don't see how he is even getting this high level of a fight on a main card still.

It lowkey was impressive how fast Erosas body got back to wrestling after he woke up from the flash KO though. That takes real experience in almost getting put unconscious to achieve.
