One interesting note that has me contemplating changing my pick is this is the first fight where Cortez-Acosta will have a little bit of size (on paper) on his opponent.

Much like part of my thought process with picking Buday, I think this could make a difference in the smaller cage. My initial feeling was the experience difference here will be to much. Cortez-Acosta is primarily a boxer and I just don't think he offers too many looks RDL has never seen before. If he were a little more well rounded I'd probably be taking him with confidence.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 5 of 11 Winners, 0 Perfect, 280 Points   |   Tied for 2526th

Song vs. Simón
Ricky Simón, DEC
48-47x2 49-46 Dec Uni. I think Song looks fantastic early, and even rocks Simon, although Ricky recovers solid. Song fades as the fight goes on and Ricky takes over.

Borralho vs. Oleksiejczuk
Caio Borralho, DEC
29-28x2 Split 28-29. I do believe this is a very good fight for Michal, His game is underrated and I could completely see him stealing the show here, especially in dirty boxing range. I will lean Caio because of the vast difference in stylistic matchups for the past few of Michal.

Brundage vs. Vieira
Cody Brundage, DEC
Split 29-28x2 27-30, Controversial but Brundage 29-28 is correct.

Erosa vs. Padilla
Fernando Padilla, TKO, R3
TKO mid round 3rd, Leg kicks add up, counters miss, and I think Fernando catches Julian during a limped step from the leg kicks. TKO Leg kicks, Punches to GnP.

Cortes-Acosta vs. Rogério de Lima
Waldo Cortes-Acosta, TKO, R1
Huge Right hand lands when back against the cage and Marcos is pressing.

Quinlan vs. Waters
Josh Quinlan, TKO, R1
I think the gameplan favors Waters, however if JQ can keep this upright- I do believe a statement KO. Knee KO.

Buday vs. Collier
Martin Buday, TKO, R2
Side Control GnP TKO, almost crucifix but not quite.

Durden vs. Johnson
Charles Johnson, DEC
29-28x2 28-29 Split! Great fight.

Egger vs. Alekseeva
Stephanie Egger, DEC
29-28x3 Uni (close) I do think Irina not cutting weight is a huge advantage for her. However I do think the professionalism/experience of Egger gets the best in a close fight.

Newson vs. McGhee
Marcus McGhee, TKO, R2
TKO Punches, strong right hand lands in a counter.

Cowan vs. Horth
Jamey-Lyn Horth, TKO, R2
TKO Body Kick to Ground and pound.

I'm with you honestly. I just don't think Waters is anymore promising. He might be the frailist welterweight I've ever seen.

That being said, Waters was also getting his ass beat in his last fight before getting a nice finish. Im just leaning into the guy who's got his first UFC win under his belt already.

I mean frail as in skinny. At 6'5 he has the frame to be a LHW or HW.

I dont think he ever had a shot against Bonfim regardless.

I bet 100 EURO for Vieira and 100 for Quinlan

Alan Jouban, former UFC welterweight: Prediction: Song is the more technical guy, but something tells me Simon will find a way to grind it out. I'm picking Simon.

For me Song is absolute killer!!!

Goodluck everybody's!!!

God bless you 🙏

Cowan vs. Horth
Hailey Cowan, DEC
Horth beat Godinez in the ammies nice, I still think Cowan probably has had better tier competition and that's what matters.

Song vs. Simón
Ricky Simón, DEC
Wrestler vs Striker is kind of the story of this card. I was there live when Simon beat Merab. I knew then, that Merab was a monster, but Simon really surprised me. He hasnt stopped climbing the ladder since. Simon matched Merabs pace and is probably the only guy in the division that can do that. For Song, hes a good striker from team Alphamale. His biggest win being Marlon Moraes whos on a very bad skid right now. Sandhagen was able to take him down so i see Simon doing that without issue. I think the only way for Song to win over 5 rounds is a KO early. Otherwise hes in for a looong fight.

Borralho vs. Oleksiejczuk
Caio Borralho, DEC
Michal looked rough on the scale. Caio has relentless pace with his grappling. Think that means a bad night for Michal. He struggled with Brundage on the ground before getting the finish. Borralho is a much bigger test and is coming into this fight with tons of confidence.

Brundage vs. Vieira
Rodolfo Vieira, SUB, R2
I think the advantage on the ground is overwhelming here for Viera and would be silly to dismiss. It all depends how fast he can get the fight there.

Erosa vs. Padilla
Julian Erosa, DEC
Straight into the fire for Padilla here. Potential fotn as Erosa always brings it and Padilla is having his debut. I have not seen enough from Padilla to pick him here. His last fight was 2 years ago, so who knows how he looks here. Especially in his first fight in the promotion. Erosa has relentless pace for three rounds and i think he gets it done.

Cortes-Acosta vs. Rogério de Lima
Marcos Rogério de Lima, DEC
I think it all depends on De Lima here. If he decides to stay on the feet, theres a chance he could get outpointed. Acosta is the more technical striker imo. I dont see De Lima getting finished though. Marcos has lots of power and i would not be surprised if he gets a KO here. The way he wins though i think is by grinding on Acosta and really getting him tired. Similar to what he did vs Maurice Greene.

Quinlan vs. Waters
Josh Quinlan, TKO, R2
First of all, Waters fought two weeks ago for a belt at LFA so big up for stepping in. Hes the taller fighter and has the better reach. I think Quinlan is faster and has better timing though. Waters sometimes tends to freeze in place and i think Quinlan can catch him. Calf kicks could play a big role here for "Bushido".

Buday vs. Collier
Martin Buday, DEC
I think its common knowledge Collier is a middleweight who enjoys a meal. His biggest win is Chase Sherman at this weight. His only other, Gian Villante, another guy who cant drive past a Wendys. If Buday has anything about him at all, he should get the dub.

Durden vs. Johnson
Cody Durden, DEC
Classic wrestler/striker matchup. This is the fight im probably least confident about. Dont rate either guy very highly tbh. Johnson has been very active recently. I think that backfires for him tonight against a wrestler with a full camp.

Egger vs. Alekseeva
Stephanie Egger, SUB, R2
Think this is a mismatch. Egger is better everywhere. I think Egger takes this quite easily. Alekseeva gasses quickly and is the worst fighter on this card imo.

Newson vs. McGhee
Journey Newson, DEC
Newsons striking is interesting. Hes pretty quick on his feet. Hes athletic and explosive. Think he will use that to get in range and will try to control McGhee against the fence/wrestle. McGhee stepping in on 3 days notice.

Cowan vs. Horth
Hailey Cowan, DEC
Looks like a close fight. Horth is not very active. Last two fights have been more than a year apart. Dont like that. Looking at the tape, i think Cowan has a bit more pop on her strikes. She fought twice last year. Cowan is a bit younger, more athletic, and has a slight reach advantage. Horth has beaten Lupita Godinez twice, but was a lot bigger in those fights, think some people missed that. Both ladies making their debut. Going with Cowan to get a close decision.

Fancy New Predictions

Predictions: 4 of 9 Winners, 2 Perfect, 250 Points   |   Tied for 2992nd

Durden vs. Johnson
I am going with Charles Johnson at -140. He has a quixotic hiza guruma and an advanced clinch and also a valiant butterfly sweep. Johnson will knuckle the foe. Truth!

Cortes-Acosta vs. Rogério de Lima
I embrace Marcos Rogério de Lima at -185. He has a laudable head coach. Rogério de Lima should operate the senses. Die daumen drücken!

Erosa vs. Padilla
I favor Julian Erosa at -150. He has a captivating double leg flapjack. Erosa could quiet the cage.

Cowan vs. Horth
I am taking Jamey-Lyn Horth at -160. She has a villainous stutter step and a cryptic osoto gari. Horth will blast the rival.

Brundage vs. Vieira
I crave Rodolfo Vieira at -240. He has a qualified left hand. Vieira will likely outsmart the cake.

Egger vs. Alekseeva
I have got Stephanie Egger at -315. She has a villainous tai otoshi. Egger won't quiet the ring announcer.

Borralho vs. Oleksiejczuk
I am taking Caio Borralho at -375. He has a zen dim mak and a delicious approach. Borralho could toss the Octagon.

Quinlan vs. Waters
I elect Josh Quinlan at -175. He has a passionate double knife hand block. Quinlan must drop the ring announcer. Acertar na mosca!

Newson vs. McGhee
I am taking Journey Newson at -190. He has a priceless double leg flapjack. Newson won't seize the corner man.

Predictions: 6 of 11 Winners, 3 Perfect, 455 Points   |   Tied for 317th

The guy knocked out the chinniest guy in the ufc and everyone is hyping him like crazy. He has minimal pro experience and is fighting a way bigger opponent. Betting him at 2 to 1 or whatever seems crazy to me
