Alright folks,

As you might know I'm Tapology Boxing editor. I know the majority of you guys are here for MMA, so was I originally. But for the last year or 2 there is a little more interest in Boxing on the site.

So here's a place to talk boxing.

Taylor is bit shopworn after so many amateur and pro bouts and is a bit aged out, also many say Serrano won that last one, but I hope she can show up 1 more time then retire maybe get into coaching

Already on it bud!!

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/97269-stevenson-vs-yoshino

It actually is a good fight. Not a lot of people will know who Yoshino is but he has been on a great run destroying good fighters over in Japan. He was on the Kenshiro Kyoguchi undercard when he beat the **** out of Nakatani, a top 10-15 Lightweight, before that he also TKOd Masayuki Ito, a recent World Champion. He's also been Japanese, OPBF (Asian equivalent to European Champ) for years. Most wins by KO.

I've said many times how much I love Japanese boxing and Yoshino has been 1 of my favourite guys to watch. He's not supremely technical, he's all pressure and power! Great inside fighter and breaks down the body well

Of course Shakur will be the favourite but he's stepping up in weight again, actually his 2nd jump up in a few fights. Maybe the size and more likely the power causes issues.

Gotta say I am liking how the 2023 boxing schedule is shaping up.
Just this week I have added that Shakur fight, Wood vs Lara, Cool Boy Steph vs Figueroa (rematch of 1 of the top 5 fights of 2021), the Co Main for that card is a certified BANGER between captain of my All Violence Team Subriel Matias vs 30-0 Jeremias Ponce. Bam Rodriguez move back down to Flyweight. Robeisy RamĂrez challenges for his 1st World Title.
The great momentum the women gained last year continues with Amanda Serrano and Alycia Baumgardtner both going for Undisputed on the same card!

The UK has some good fights already on the schedule. Eubank Liam Smith should be a proper scrap. The weekend after Beterbiev comes to London where I am confident he will destroy Yarde but Yarde will be dangerous early, also Josh Taylor Jack Catterall 2 beginning March.

On top of that Usyk Fury seems very close to done, Canelos Cinco de Mayo Fight will be announced soon, Devin Haney Lomachenko is done just waiting on a date,Joshua will be out April 1st, Errol Spence is facing Thurman, OK its not the fight we all want vs Bud but still it's good to see a top 10 P4P guy fight anytime and Thurman, though inactive, is no mug, he was considered the no1 Welterweight not to long ago.

Anyway, I'm pretty pleased with the 2023 schedule so far

Didn't even mention Tank vs Ryan Garcia (tho I'm still skeptical about that 1 no matter what anyone says!) and another member of my All Violence Team David Benavidez vs Caleb Plant, Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz and Naoya Inoue moving up in weight again to see if anyone can take his power (I think 126/130 may be his limit ,he started at 108lbs!)

It's gonna be Ryder on Cinco de Mayo. Also little worried regarding Benevidez vs Plant, why the hold up on annoucing a date?

Yup, it's almost certain that Ryder will be Canelos opponent. I heard that Sunny Edwards vs El Rey Martinez could be on that card too.

PBC/Showtime should be releasing their schedule soon. Benavidez Plant should still be on, sometime in March, but yeah I want the official announcement sooner than later!

Wow, that's a really solid lineup of fights so far. I'm really excited to see some good matches being made like Loma vs Haney, always love seeing Bronco fight, that man is pure violence, and excited to see where fights like Tank Ryan and Usyk Fury go. Not to excited about Spence fighting another person not named Crawford, or Canelo fighting a bum with 5 losses (kidding kidding, I know Ryder is a legit dude, just not who I wanted to see Nelo fighting) but I won't complain about these fights. Overall a lot of good stuff to look forward too this year, and hopefully we get even more soon

This is a new 1!

I come across many, many wierd and wonderful things following boxing from all around the world, especially on the smaller shows.
I've seen fights on farmlands surrounded by Goats and Chickens, seen an event in a Mortuary, 1 promoter laid Egyptian rugs as a makeshift canvas!! Many, many freaks, Warlords, **** stars and Z listers ringside and I've seen about 30 rings fall apart to name a few.

Today I discovered a new 1

https://www.facebook.com/100063530144791/posts/pfbid02yErnyjKVi3PjZDzyRHBkvCJoVnnkYK1AtDJcE9sUvJC8CVEyyLr9mPRoJWud1EjQl/?app=fbl

On a mixed Boxing and Bare Knuckle show scheduled for this Saturday from Florida. Turns out all the Bare Knuckle fighters submitted fake blood samples to the commission!!!!

When you can't get past the Florida commission you are seriously ******!!!

Mick Conlan next fight

https://www.boxingscene.com/luis-alberto-lopez-vs-michael-conlan-showdown-being-negotiated--171764

I'm sure that someone posted here asking about Mick Conlans next fight.
I thought that Conlan vs Josh Warrington would be next. Warrington lost to Venado LĂłpez and now it looks like Conlan vs Lopez is happening early summer in Belfast for Lopez newly won IBF World Featherweight Title

Makes sense, as both guys are Top Rank fighters and you just know that Top Rank would absolutely love to have an Irish World Champion!!! They have been heavily invested in Conlan since his debut at MSG. I'm sure they had him headlining shows as soon as he turned pro? Plus they run him out nearly every St Paddy's Day (it's kind of a joke to the Irish how much American Irish mkae a big deal of St Paddy's Day)

Anyway, Lopez couldn't make Paddy's day this year because Warrington headbutted the **** outta him!!! Causing los of cuts that need to heal. So sometime between April and June in Belfast is the plan.

By the way I think Conlan wins the title in a close decision that many people will call a robbery!  Unless he gasses late again and Venado ****s him up!

If there is anyone in the influencer scene who could go pro and do damage it's this kid.  Highlight KO's twice in a row and this one against one of the better guys in this scene.  Even Ryan Garcia said he needs to stop fighting influencers and go pro.  If he can cut some weight and drop to 168 he could be a serious problem.

Best KO of the weekend

I think that I have mentioned Japanese prospect Jin Sasaki here before, I am sure he lost his next fight so you probably thought that I was talking ****e! Ha
(He did lose to Andy Hiraoka, who is probably the best 140lbs under the radar prospect in the world so, you know)

Anyhoo, Sasaki has rebuilt since, moving up in weight picking up a win (and a draw) against modest opposition. At the weekend he stepped up again to face long reigning OPBF and WBO Asia Champion Toyoshima.

The main reason I like Sasaki is that he is a MANIAC!!!!  Probably my favourite style not technical, all forward pressure and swinging hooks!!!
Some fighters are born with something special. Sasaki has been gifted with an unbelievable thudding left Hook!!!

Watch him absolutely destroy Toyoshima inside a minute here

https://www.boxingscene.com/kenshiro-teraji-jonathan-bomba-gonzalez-wbc-wba-wbo-unification-bout-play-april--171854

"BoxingScene.com has learned that Kenshiro ‘The Amazing Boy’ Teraji and Jonathan ‘Bomba’ Gonzalez are all but set to take place in April at a venue to be determined in Japan. Teraji will risk his lineal junior flyweight championship and WBC and WBA titles, while Puerto Rico’s Gonzalez will once again travel abroad with his WBO belt in tow.

Representatives for both boxers did not respond to inquiries from BoxingScene.com seeking comment or verification as this goes to publication."

Exciting rumors regarding one of the more exciting champs today. If this happens, and Kenshiro wins does he become a pound-for-pound boxer? 🤔

Kenshiro is already P4P on my list, the only list that matters! forget about the Ring, TBRB, ESPN lists.
I also thought he had a real shout for 2022 fighter of the Year.

I was going to post that same video the other day!
Finito Lopez was an amazing boxer, supreme technique with power. Ruled the Flyweight division for an entire decade! Undefeated, with only 1 draw on his record 51-0-1.
For me, he is a top 10 Mexican of all time
