Just an absurd fight.

Part of me when reading about this announcement was thinking & excited because Woodley has handz sometimes, and some pretty sick power. But then, reality hits you and you realize Woodley is so far past his prime that a mediocre Jake Paul beating him in a boxing match is a very feasible possibility. It's brutal.

Jake Paul, I don't care how you twist it, is a very bad boxer. I have an ounce of respect for the dude for having the balls to do it, period, but his skills are unremarkable at best. The easiest way to show this is that Nate Robinson before getting deaded was having some success landing on Paul. But even beyond that, Ben Askren. The dude is one of the worst strikers in the history of MMA, and in-terms of his striking has one decent punch. His overhand right. That's all he has. It's not a fight-ender, it's not fast, it's not powerful, but Ben Askren has always had a serviceable overhand right - and that's it. Yet he was still able to land it on Jake Paul literally seconds into their fight. It did nothing, and it didn't matter, but still, it goes to show you how not-great Jake Paul is when it comes to prepping for fights.

I'd like to imagine that Woodley and his modern-day one-round self will be able to KO Paul, but it's sad that it's not a guarantee. I think the shorter rounds benefit him, and I think against someone who isn't a very good boxer like Jake Paul, he may actually be able to do well in the first round or two with his power. Paul doesn't have dynamite in his hands if you have any semblance of a decent defense, and Woodley probably felt bigger bombs without dropping in previous MMA fights. I think this is a fight Woodley should win. Just throw a few of those overhands you've been loading up on for the past 3 years, and I think Paul will probably fall. Bad defense, bad fight IQ, he should get cracked here.

The unfortunate thing is that this is a pay-per-view when it should be on regular Showtime.

This is sad. I hate Jake Paul as much as the next guy, but he’s probably gonna destroy T-Wood. Sorry 😞

Can see it going either way. Wholeheartedly believe that Jake Paul cannot eat a bomb from Woodley but Tyron is just old now and Jake Paul is taking boxing seriously and improving which sounds dumb but is true. Wouldn't put them past it to rig this too.

If Colby Covington couldn't draw a pull back or blitz left right from Woodley, I don't think Jake Paul will. At this point Woodley has only lost to the best, only been knocked out once in his career and he wasn't out cold (back in Strikeforce in an amazing fight vs. Nate Marquardt.

Woodley has shown he has knockout power, he's freakishly fast, and can blitz attack. The thing is the guy is just not an offensive fighter, but he stood up to a beating from Usman and Burns. Luque is no slouch, so it's not crazy to think that something pisses Woodley off and he catches Paul with a punch.

Let's just say at this point, Woodley's power would be the last thing to go, but can he pure box when he hasn't even thrown a meaningful punch in the last 3 years. I don't know.

I've watched Woodley since he TKO'd Galvao in Strikeforce, the fight vs Marquardt, he has legit starched some professionals. I'm gonna have to think about this, but some unseen force is just telling me Woodley doesn't pull that trigger and loses a decision.

Hate to say it, I mean I REALLY HATE to say it!! But Jake ****** Paul is gonna KO TWood!
Quiet with the T Wood knocked out Robbie Lawler talk!!! MMA striking is not boxing. They are 2 completely different things. Woodley has a pull back Overhand Right, a supreme powerful and fast 1(not as fast as it was). But that's it, no jab, no hook, no slips, parries, footwork!!!
As much as I don't like him Jake Paul has spent the last few years doing nothing but training boxing with top trainers with the best sparring in the best gyms. He will have some skills and they will be improving.
I still think that a decent amateur boxer would whip his ass but Woodley is a semi retired MMA fighter, college wrestler who hasn't had a decent performance since 2018.
Paul is gonna KO him.

And now I'm away to be sick

The Paul brothers are bona fide boxing mega stars and really show up all the rag tag boxers with their lowly street dog ways. If they don't get into the boxing hall of fame it will be national travesty
