@flying_frontkick

He's definitely a lot better than people are giving him credit for and could forge a decent career for himself if he continues to work hard but I just feel that the only way we can really start to gauge how far he can go is by testing him against professional boxers. He's talented, he's got good technique and he's certainly got power but until he fights a professional boxer, I'm not gonna rate him higher than any other Cruiserweight prospect.

I think he is happy making money

I agree, he needs to fight a professional. But would we want to see that? He's more of a freak show fighter, all those people watching who know nothing of boxing. I think he needs to choose between pro and freak show fights. I think he takes freak show fights for money.

Nah mate. I’d pick any open class amateur boxer in his weight class over him. He’s got a lot of money and by product of that good coaches, conditioning training, nutrition, etc. But he’s nothing special.

@flying_frontkick

I've no doubt that's his biggest motivation and he'll want the fights that will generate the most money over the fights that make the most sense but there's a part of me that is naïvely hoping that he'll start to become a serious fighter as he has massive potential to bring new fans to the sport which would be a good thing for boxing but if he keeps fighting these circus fights rather than serious boxing matches then he'll drag the sport down rather than up. I've reluctantly accepted that he's here to stay in the boxing game, at least for the foreseeable future and I'm just hoping that he can end up being a net positive rather than a net negative for boxing during his career.

Put Jake Paul in vs a novice Kazakh/Uzbek amateur and he would get lit the **** up!

So far he 3 pro wins vs not 1 pro boxer!!!!  He has also greatly outsized each opponent too.

If you're gonna call yourself a boxer you kinda have to face a boxer!!!

I think the Tommy Fury fight could be a good 1.  Tommy is a minor C list celebrity in the UK but he has boxed all his life, most travellers have gloves on from birth!!!!  His pro record is almost as bad as Pauls tho!!!!
I don't think Paul will take that fight.  More likely he boxes T Wood, maybe Oscar Dela Hoya or, gulp, Chuck Liddell!!!!  Yes, Chuck is featured on the Triller Fight Club promotional/hype vid.  He's gonna be on an upcoming Triller card.  Not gonna end well

And there I was thinking that Chuck Liddell was done after the 3rd Tito Ortiz fight. Silly me!

Ex-NBA player turned pro boxer Kendall Gill has called out Jake Paul

Predictions: 6 of 6 Winners, 2 Perfect, 380 Points   |   Tied for 30th with 13 others

First off, I know jack **** about basketball so I've never heard of Kendall Gill but from what I've read, he seems like a big name in basketball and has also become a pro boxer with a perfect record of 4-0 and he's called out Jake Paul for a fight and has been rebuffed by Paul for being "too old" and "not relevant enough". He seems like he could beat Paul and the article is also a good read as he perfectly covers every criticism of Paul. Of all the potential fights for this circus's future, this seems like one that actually makes a bit of sense.

Nah mate, this is not it
He's 52, hasn't boxed in 10+ years, he had 4 fights against the lowest of the low levels of Pro boxers(all guys with 0 wins and KO defeats in nearly every fight they ever had before and after Gill faced them)

I want an actual current boxer to lay this kid out! Not a 52 year old, faded former NBA, part time 4-0 can crusher "boxer"

Also, he was nowhere near to a big name in the NBA. He had a couple of OK seasons but was just an average squad player really.

@Mikey1903

I'd love to see him face an actual boxer as well but tbh I think even Gill could probably beat Paul. I'm not saying that Gill is a good boxer but I just recon Paul is worse. Plus, if he did lose to an Ex basketball player that would probably end his circus career as that would be a way more embarrassing loss than if he lost to a legitimate boxer.

@Joshjeffords

There is a good chance that Daniel Cormier would KO Paul but I don't actually think that's a given. It just depends on how hard he's been training recently and with the Heavyweights especially, once they start to decline, that decline can often be very rapid compared to fighters of other weight classes. Having said that, if that fight happened I would still pick Cormier by KO.
