Very surprised at how many people are picking Rumble and even more surprised by how many picking ko, Are you people out of you're frickin minds? Rumble by ko, Really? Cmon.. He didn't come close to finishing Hardy at any point and just layed on him for 15 mins, What makes you think he will be able to ko/tko Vitor standing or on the ground.. This is going to be an easy fight for Vitor. Probably my greatest lock of all time, haha.

If Rumble wins it will be by decision. He wont finish Belfort.

The funny thing about the whole wrestling vs bjj question is that people don't always think about the real life applicaton of these martial arts. When it comes to combat wrestling is extremely useful, but only when coupled with ground and pound. Unless you are striking your opponent in some way, the advantageous, "dominant" positions that good wrestling skills will give you will only help you actually damage or defeat an adversary if you hit him with your fists and, or elbows. What is special about bjj is that if gives you ways to defeat or potentially injur (or even kill if you wanted to) someone just by grappling.

MMA is what matters not just wrestling or BJJ. If wrestlers didn't study jits, they'd have those old habits of leaving arms and legs in danger zones. Wrestling these days rolld hand in hand with BJJ because they need to know it to defend it. Thats why wrestling tops BJJ simply because they learned BJJ but use it in a top offence which scores more points than attacking from bottom.

@thiago You really think it would be crazy if Rumble KO'd Vitor? He's finished pretty much everyone he's fought but Hardy. I know you hate Rumble but c'mon...

One of the things that keeps coming to my mind when i think about this fight is, is Vitor as good at BJJ subs as Koscheck is at wrestling subs. Because Koscheck got the RNC in pretty easily and if it goes to the ground could Vitor do the same?

He only has a couple submission wins would be cool to see him get another one if it ends up on the ground

Vitor hasnt won a fight by sub in 10 years. His last sub was over Bobby Southworth! It could happen here.

Ive said it before and I'll say it again. In my opinion Belfort will be THE guy to beat Anderson. He got KOd by a kick that would have dropped anyone, I dont think he would let that happen again. Im a big fan of Belfort. I actually had to move him JUSTT outside of my top 10 because he will be fighting my number 1 after TUF Brasil aha. I think Vitor Belfort has the most potential in the MW division right now. He has showed it time and time again, I think Johnson is a good fighter but if he seriously thinks hes gonna come up from WW and try to show hes a contender at MW against a guy like Belfort then I feel sorry for the guy.

I'm a huge fan of both fighters but this has to be a really even fight. Belfort holds the edge in more technical boxing but I believe that in terms of power Rumble has the slight edge. Belfort has proved that he's dominate with his hands and has some nice BJJ, but Rumble is powerful with his hands and legs. His wrestling is also very strong. If this fight goes to the ground, it could be Rumble trying the Jon Fitch "lay and pray", or he could be aggressive and finish it. If not, Belfort will set up a slick submission and catch Rumble making a mistake. If anything, Belfort will look to stand back up and keep the fight standing. I don't recall seeing Rumble's chin tested, but Belfort's has been. Rumble can slug with anyone, and now that hes at his natural weight class he should have better cardio. All in all, I'd say that Rumble will defeat Belfort via KO/TKO or SD.

Vitor is just too quick with his hands. Unless Rumble can catch him with a big shot, I see Vitor winning this one easily.

Vitor is quite easily the most over rated fighter in the MW division.
I mean the guy got a title shot by beating Rich Franklin at 195 lb catchweight, then got knocked out by Anderson Silva with a foot slap, and then he beats Sexyama who lets face it isn't that good to begin with.
Anthony Johnson is gonna have a size advantage and is gonna use his wrestling to pull the upset off.

@greg haha i am just saying Silva literally landed the same kick on Dan Henderson and it barely phased him and it dropped Vitor like a chump.
