I've always thought he is underpaid by the UFC, he is a top 10 fighter and has a lot of followers, the UFC seem to like him, but he still not getting the big checks. he deserves big money he is always taking short notice fights and putting on a show

It is even more glaring how underpaid Cerrone is when you take into consideration that he isn't getting the same amount of sponsorship money he used to get pre Reebok deal.

Actually, Busweiser went full bro and kept sponsoring him even though they're getting WAY less exposure. He's most likely lost some of his other sponsors, but his major one did what Xbox did for DJ which I think it super cool.

Should be the first fighter they just put on salary. He fights often enough.

On a serious note, I sympathize with Cowboy, but this is why the Diaz brothers are so critical of him sucking that UFC D for a decade. What has it gotten him? He's everything they look for in a fighter. They say "Jump!" He says, "How high?"

I guess he might have heard what Nate had to say and is finally looking to get paid more. While he still looks amazing (as evidenced by last night), he knows he's not getting any younger and that he probably doesn't have much time as an elite fighter left.

Hopefully Dana is on board with paying him more when Cowboy talks to him. God knows how much Cerrone has done for the UFC.

That is probably why he really fights so much.

If Cerrone got paid $500K/$500K he would probably be richer than Dana in a few years LOL

He does fight a lot but it was only for a title once. That is where his bigger money would come from.

RIGHT after ****ting all over how much the UFC pays him, Cerrone said he'll say yes to anything they call him with tomorrow.

Then don't ask us to feel sorry for you.

Cerrone is a perpetual contender  he should probably be getting six figures to show maybe 150/150 with some kind of revenue share for when he main events. Time to renegotiate and he has to be willing to jump ship.

Honestly Cerrone is the kind of guy UFC should most want to keep. I can't imagine one fighter making more of a difference for a smaller promotion with his fight style, ability to fight and look good at two of the deepest weight classes, and how incredibly active he has been as a fighter.

@skelli, I don't think Cerrone was whining about his pay. He was asked what he means to the UFC and he called it straight saying that according to how much they pay him, he means **** to them instead of doing them any favours.

Saying you're not happy with something doesn't necessarily mean you have to go on an Italian strike until it's fixed. That's not how he operates. I don't think he expects to be "important to the UFC either". As far as he's concerned they're his employer and nothing more. He doesn't love them and they don't have to love him.

I don't think he will jump ship. No other event has enough events for him to fight this often.
