Alot of these cuts make sense considering how these guys fared in their last few fights. As for Mike Pierce I think its completely unfair. He just came back from being injured and lost a very close decision. He is definately a top 25 welterweight and has had success in the UFC. Only thing I can think is why they cut him is he makes OK money and that he could beat alot of their upcoming younger talent. Shows that the UFC doesnt give a crap about nothing but profit.
The UFC just released Jake Ellenberger. Looking back it was crazy how lethal his stand up was; he had some great knockouts and he even dropped Condit a couple times in one round. I don't know if it was the Kampmann or MacDonald fight, but he was never the same after 2013.
It doesn't help he made a fool of himself on Kimmel - skip to 1:50

It was the Kampmann fight. After that ko loss he fought Jay Heiron in a horrible performance where neither guy did anything and I thought he lost a close one.It seemed clear he wasn't the same fighter. Then was kinda getting worked by Marquardt iirc till he caught him,so it's not like he went out and fought well,it was just a good couple shots and Nate's inability to take a shot at ww imo. Then it just kept going downhill.I feel bad for him because he just kept getting great fighters after that.It is what it is.Hopefully he can do well somewhere else.
Man was huge ellenberger fan will never forget him vs pele landi jons, very sad to see him go down hill especially since drug policy revamp

Jared Rosholt just got released today. I am a bit surprised really; he is 6-2 in the UFC, not the most exciting fighter (especially for a HW); but he is still young and could be a decent journeyman. He'll probably go back to Legacy or Titan; maybe even get signed by Bellator

Yeah, he wasn't really that exciting, but that's a slap to the face of a 6-2 UFC fighter, like Griffy suggested. Maybe he spoke out about pay or Reebok? And I'm not kidding.

@dtrain I just think it had to do with Roshalt being a boring fighter. Most of Roshalt's wins in the UFC were unconvincing that he was a potential top 15 contender. I know it is a bit of a slap in the face to Roshalt, and I don't want to sound like a snarky **** when I say this, but he did this to himself a bit. Roahalt was way too conservative with his offense in his fights. Now it wouldn't be a big issue if this was a lighter weight fighter, but he engaged in striking less than Jon Fitch. AND HE'S A HEAVYWEIGHT. That doesn't look good, especially when you consider how the UFC has been putting an effort towards rebuilding the heavier weight divisions. So while I feel that the cutting of Roshalt was a bit of a slap in the face, he could have avoided this if he made minor adjustments to the way he fights.
