When the hell are we gonna see Serra back in the cage? I miss him :( ... I saw an interview of him after Weidman fought and he was saying he would like to come back in october or something so he would have to get off the "preggo pounds" Haha.. He was over 200lbs he said.. If hes coming back in october whop would you guys like to see him against? Im saying Dong Hyun Kim or maybe even Thiago Alves?

Matt owns two gyms in Long Island. He's ran those two locations for years, way before he ever became famous. I actually went out there for a weekend and trained with him between his fights with Jeff Curran and Ivan Menjivar. Glad to hear that a lot of people here like Matt, because he's an awesome guy both in personality and in talent. I'm looking forward to seeing him back in the cage as well.

I didn't know he was even fighting anymore. Think he's been more focused on coaching lately, not really a bad thing. Weidman is turning out to be a really good prospect and could make serious waves at MW due to the lack of other dominant wrestlers.

I was pretty aggravated with his strategy as well, but when you take into consideration Lytle's boxing pedigree and Matt Serra's background, it's surprising that Matt hung in there the way he did. I think that speaks volumes for the hard work and dedication that Serra has put into becoming a well-rounded MMA athlete, as opposed to just a great grappler.

A lot of Matt Serra's fights went like that. Most people don't realize that Serra has fought the who's-who of the divisions he competed in. I STILL think that he won his fight against BJ Penn. When he fought Shonie Carter, Carter was the man, and Matt dominated that entire fight up until he got caught by the infamous spinning back fist. I give a lot of credit to Matt for fighting who has fought, but his record should look a lot better than it does right now.

A lot of newer fans put too much worth into records when comparing it to the older gen fighters. No one went undefeated back then because there was so much mayhem happening. Nowadays fighters fight safer and fight in proper weight divisions. Thats also why i like bj so much. Serra is an irritating guy to listen to sometimes but he stands by his word, hes got solid skills everywhere, and he fights to fight which is more than can be said about some people nowadays.
