MATT RIDDLE RETIRES FROM MMA

damn just saw this pretty sad right now he was one of my favorite fighters and always will be . i wish him the best in his retirement hope he makes a healthy recovery .

Don't know if this will be a 100% permanent thing. He is upset Bellator can't get him any more fights this year because he's injured for 9/20. It might just be reactionary to his situation but he may show up again down the line. He burned his bridges with the UFC and is now upset when he found out the grass is not greener on the other side. 

He should have gone to Legacy like he was supposed to at the start ... Bellator is a good place to be as long as your schedule aligns with their tournaments ... the minute you're not in a tournament, whether it's because they think you're not good enough (Tyson Nam) or injury (Riddle), good luck getting a fight.

With Legacy he could have fought 4-5 times a year.

******* Bellator, probably offered him a high contract because they saw he had sour g****s on the UFC (seems like they're signing every fighter who has something bad to say about the UFC these days) and now he's going to have to be sidelined for more than he has to because of their stupid tournament thing, which is a very cool idea IF everything goes well and no one gets injured, but come on, this is ******* MMA, fighters get injured, what then? What's your plan B for fighters who aren't the champ? What do the Tyson Nams, Matt Riddles and countless others do? It's not the first time a fighter's been sour over not getting fights in what's supposed to be the #2 promotion in the world!! They just usually shut up about it so's not to **** up their chances to maybe get a fight here and there or make it into the next tournament while they're still under Bellator contract.

As for Riddle, he's not retiring ...this is a knee-jerk + stating his case kind of thing ... that's how he operates, he did it when he was in the UFC and he's doing it in Bellator, he's just not too bright.

And apparently he couldn't afford to wait and keep training so he just retired. 

I think hes still under contract with Bellator though so if hes hoping they'll release him its not going to work. 

Hopefully this is just a fit. I really think he has a future in MMA.

Temporary, I believe. Much too young, and he likes to fight. Not gonna last very long.

Hope it's not permanent, he usually puts on really good fights.

I really liked that standing arm triangle takedown submission he did against... I cant remember who now lol
