Thoughts?
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1564534-dr-johnny-benjamin-25-year-old-heavyweight-stefan-struve-should-retire

"How many times has he been knocked out? I know he's a young man, but he's been knocked out more than a few times ... At some point, someone really needs to ask the question, should he still be fighting? That many concussions, so quickly, and at this young age ... a person has two types of age, chronological and physiologic age. Stefan's license may say he's 25, but in physiologic years, he's much, much older than that, with all the concussive force that he's sustained ... I'm sure nobody will like to hear this, but Stefan Struve really needs to think about retiring."

"If it's not him that will make that decision, then Dana White needs to start talking to him about retiring. The question out there is how many sustained concussions is too many, and according to the latest literature that's coming out, the answer is starting to look like it's somewhere between two and three. That's where you start having permanent changes."

I think a lot of people are midreading the title. Stefan Struve isn't retiring. Just some 3rd party doctor saying he should.

I hate to see a talent like Struve go before he really gets a chance to reach his prime. If it is a serious problem I would hope he would stop.I don't see a warrior like Struve quitting anytime soon.

Between two and three concussions causes permanent damage? That would be terrible, maybe that's why I'm a little slow lol

It only takes one concussion for permanent damage

doctors are always saying we need to stop doing ****, I know he can't keep getting KO'd like that, but at least in this case he wasn't out, he was rocked I mean Hunt broke his ******* shin! but it wasn't a concussion strictly speaking, but still a broke jaw is not good for bussines, he needs to work on his jab and striking defense, has has been improving but he has to get better fast or he WILL have a short career.
he is a tough dude the **** he retires no, he'll just take it and keep going

Johnny Benjamin forms these opinions based on what he knows from the medical reports. He's a fight analyst/writer with a medical degree. He's usually pretty spot on many topics. Not completely sure about this one though. However, I'm not a doctor, so his opinion is still more valid than mine.

Was thinking the same thing as a lot of you guys when I read "2 - 3 times", I have more concussions than that just in car and motorcycle accidents. You guys ever been hit so hard that all you "see" is a super bright flash of white light?

doctors are always saying we need to stop doing ****,
- Because theyre doctors and know WAY more than us non doctors.
I know he can't keep getting KO'd like that, but at least in this case he wasn't out, he was rocked I mean Hunt broke his ******* shin!
- Doesnt matter if you dont go out. Going out, has nothing to do with concussions. You can get a worse concussion by not getting knocked out.
