In speaking with the director of BJPENN.COM, and after contemplating the matchup and possible return to action with his advisors, BJ Penn issued the following response to Rory MacDonald…

“Rory, I accept your challenge!”

Now all that is left is to get the UFC on board and put “Penn” to paper.

The bout is proposed for the UFC’s return to Toronto, Ontario Canada on September 22 for UFC 152. No venue has been selected at this time.

BJ Penn will be a guest this Thursday on our very own “Just Scrap Radio” to discuss his return to action. Tune in on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET right here on BJPENN.COM.

So it looks like BJ is taking the fight...wonder how much of a payday UFC threw at him.

I will put Oregon up against Montreal any day of the week, whether it be UFC only or MMA in general.  The Pacific-Northwest has a huge amateur mma scene and continuously puts fighters in the UFC, Bellator and several other major orgs.  Montreal while being good for Canada hasn't been in the business of MMA for nearly as long as we have been out here.

I think saying anywhere but Vegas being the mecca of Combat sports is a little "homerish."  I am not discrediting the strides that Montreal has taken but your province is really still in the infancy stage in comparison to a lot places.  I saw my first ammy event in Oregon in 97'.

I do think that a lot of us, myself included, tend to think the region we live in is better than others.  As long as the sport is being promoted does it really matter where Mecca is???  No, we don't just as long as we can see quality fights whether it is UFC, Instinct, FCFF, CageSport, Cagequest, Hard Knocks or MFC.

But you guys continue your debate because it is fun to watch.

Anik, when our populations are equal to each other than we will talk about selling out a stadium.  Also I bet a majority of those that bought tickets were from other areas of North America.  I can't help it if Quebec hasn't had good MMA until 2 years ago, lol.  We don't rely on UFC ticket sales to prove our value in MMA, unlike you Canadians who judge your "Meccaness" based upon ticket sales, lol.

we have been in business out here for 15+years.  talk to me when Quebec is out of the infant stage of growth in MMA related activities.

Your turn Anik, lol.
