In speaking with the director of BJPENN.COM, and after contemplating the matchup and possible return to action with his advisors, BJ Penn issued the following response to Rory MacDonald…
“Rory, I accept your challenge!”
Now all that is left is to get the UFC on board and put “Penn” to paper.
The bout is proposed for the UFC’s return to Toronto, Ontario Canada on September 22 for UFC 152. No venue has been selected at this time.
BJ Penn will be a guest this Thursday on our very own “Just Scrap Radio” to discuss his return to action. Tune in on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET right here on BJPENN.COM.
So it looks like BJ is taking the fight...wonder how much of a payday UFC threw at him.

Montreal sells out every time, in fact we actually OVERPACKED the Centre Bell. You can say Toronto had the biggest show ever but again, everyone and their mother knows that you can easily pack 55,000 in Montreal and Rio. Toronto packed that much with a two title card and they've only had two events ever. They legalized MMA last ******* year, Montreal's had it forever, we've believed it when it wasn't as big and Toronto believed in it when they saw the success generated from the Montreal shows. We have the best Canadian fighters, we have the best gyms on the planet, we ALWAYS pack it, and UFC 124 was one of the loudest crowds in MMA history. We have the most passionate MMA fans and it's not like we only love the UFC, Quebec has the best amateur MMA ON THE PLANET.
Toronto boo-ed GSP.
That's why Montreal is the Mecca of MMA.

I'm explaining my reasons as to why Montreal's the MMA capital of the world and your explanation is what DFW said a couple of months ago? Didn't he recently call Rio the MMA capital of the world too?
I gave you a more-than reasonable response and you gave me a video of what some bald ****tard says about every new city he goes to. There ya ******* go.
My opinion > Dana White's opinion and your opinion too
Toronto sucks by the way, I used to live there. It's real ****. Ottawa might be better but Toronto is definitely ass.

Before anything else Dana is a promoter; he'd say Youngstown, Ohio is the mecca of MMA if it meant a 60,000 seat, sold out show.
Toronto is definately NOT the mecca of MMA - it's a great town, with a ton of love for the sport but the province has only leagalized MMA for a year, had 2 UFC shows and hardly any amateur shows. (Casino Rama is 2 hours Northwest of the city - doesn't count)
If you ask me, it's gotta be Rio, MMA is basically runner-up as their national sport. With Vegas or Montreal coming in a close second. *Southern California's in there somewhere too*

@jmcdowell very well said, I think Montreal's the Mecca but I'm alright with Rio. But Toronto? Freaking New York City is the Mecca of MMA before Toronto.
