Donnelly and Wheeler took to the cage for the second bout of the main card in a lightweight affair.

Donnelly landed a nice body kick that Wheeler answered with a leg kick. Donnelly missed a left hook and Wheeler clinched him against the cage, but Donnelly reversed the position and worked for a trip takedown, which Wheeler defended. Donnelly scrambled to Wheeler's back and secured a body lock, but Wheeler grabbed a Kimura to defend against the takedown. Wheeler pulled Donnelly to the ground with the hold, but both fighters stood, as the submission wasn't there. Donnelly again pushed Wheeler against the cage with double underhooks before the referee separated the fighters. Wheeler landed a leg kick, then another. Again Wheeler ducked under a left hook and dove in on a double leg, landing in the half guard. Donnelly rolled Wheeler over and worked from inside Wheeler's closed guard. Wheeler stayed very active from the bottom as Donnelly struggled to maintain control. Wheeler landed a few short elbows from the bottom. Donnelly postured up and landed some nice punches from the top before Wheeler pulled him back down. Wheeler used the cage to stand, but Donnelly grabbed a body lock from behind and dragged him back down. Wheeler kept Donnelly on the defensive with a rubber guard in the final minute.

Wheeler missed a kick and took one to the body as a result. Donnelly landed a side kick to the body. Donnelly smashed Wheeler in the chin with a flying knee then clinched him against the cage before separating. Donnelly landed a left hook to the body and Wheeler responded with a right cross. Donnelly dove in on another takedown and got it. Donnelly passed to side control as Wheeler attacked an armbar. Wheeler got back to his feet and pushed Donnelly against the cage before being reversed again. Donnelly dragged Wheeler down, again landing in side control. Wheeler rolled to his knees and Donnelly dove on an anaconda choke that Wheeler defended. Wheeler wound up on top in side control after a scramble before looking for a north/south choke. Wheeler abandoned the choke and Donnelly got back to his feet. A low blow prompted a momentary halt to the contest. On the restart, Wheeler landed a nice leg kick and then a knee to the body. Wheeler grabbed a rear body lock in the center of the cage and got a nice slam takedown. Wheeler took Donnelly's back in a scramble against the cage and worked some punches. Wheeler locked in the body triangle and controlled the position in the final seconds.

Wheeler again attacked right away to start the third, backing Donnelly into the cage with boxing combos before getting a takedown and landing in side control. Wheeler looked to take Donnelly's back in a scramble but slipped off and allowed Donnelly to get back to his feet. Wheeler took Donnelly's back again on the feet and got his hooks in, dragging him down again. Wheeler again locked in the body triangle and worked punches before locking in the rear naked choke and drawing the tap.

The official end came 1:51 into the third round, giving Wheeler the submission victory.
