Prediction: correct Silva   correct KO/TKO   wrong Round 2

AS avoids an early fluster by Belfort, landing some big shots in the first. Silva smells blood and moves in for the kill as soon as the 2nd starts. Early 2nd round tko.

I guess i havent seen a raw finisher in silva lately (lets b honest the last triangle was due to sonnen being tired), damian maia and the last few fights silva has been waiting for a counter not aggressing the challenger much, if silva wins i would almost have to say it goes five rounds for a one sided decision  (lets now forget the thailes fight, kind of a snoozer)

Belfort's biggest chance will be in Round 1, while he is fresh. As the fight goes deeper into the rounds, it will side with Silva and his superior conditioning.

Considering Anderson was rocked by Sonnen (I know he had hurt ribs, but still...), I see Belfort putting him away by the second.

My head tells me that Silva is going to win this one but my heart is with Vitor. Im fairly confident this is going to end in a KO/TKO regardless of who wins.

Guys, stop kidding yourselves. No way Belfort wins this. He has looked pretty good as of late against Franklin (whom Silva destroyed far more convincingly) and Lindland (who can't fight southpaws for his life), but he's coming off a big layoff and is the most inconsistent fighter in MMA. I'm not saying this isn't a close fight, but Silva has never lost a fight on the feet, and that won't change on Saturday.

@minotauro11: Agreed. Inconsistency and mental weakness as fights wear on are the two biggest weaknesses I see in Belfort's game. Silva will win, I am confident.

FIGHT WEEK! I can't wait, I just don't see the Vitor being able to last with Anderson after being out of the octagon for 16 months unless. I see Anderson finally proving a point with a worthy challenger that he is still the best!

I'm sorry but as much hype as hes getting....Vitor Belfort has nothing to offer Silva. Yeah, hes explosive and athletic and a bunch of other generic sports terms to make people believe but the truth is Silva is faster, more precise, and worst of all...has something to prove after Sonnen. You'll be seeing shades of his Chris Leben fight here when he puts away Belfort in the 2nd.

The feeling out process in round one will be longer than usual. Anderson will look to time Vitor's speed and Belfort will continue cutting off the ring and forcing Anderson to circle to his right. A lackluster first round will end with a coin flip for a scorecard. Round two will see Anderson try to use some of his kicks. Belfort will time a Silva outside leg kick, check it and counter with the short right jab/uppercut that Vitor throws to set up the straight left hand, which will land and drop Silva. Belfort moves in for the finish and there is a new middlewieght champion.

Vitor has more heart. He is fighting for his family unlike silva who is just fighting to fight.Ill admit silva has skill but i think belfort has more . All my money will be on belfort.

Vitor has more heart?  Not to pick, but I tend to place Vitor in a group with fighters like Frank Mir and Cro Cop, front runners.  Guys who look great as long as they are dominating a fight, but when they start to get beat up on, they withdraw.  That's why this fight could be a real stinker.  If Vitor gets hit liberally early, he's going to shrink in to himself and try to avoid Silva.  The knock on Vitor is that he's weak minded and a mamas boy.  Don't get me wrong, I love to see him fight, but he does have a tendency to check out.  Meanwhile, Anderson Silva just pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in MMA history by submitting Chael Sonnen after getting beat on for 20+ minutes with a rib injury.  If I had to give one guy the advantage in heart and mental toughness, it would be the Spider.
