And dude, it's the playoffs. 2 games in the playoffs is like 8 in the regular season.

@Anik: I know it's the playoffs, but the game was already won, and like said, that is not even a hockey play! Shannahan even goes on to say it was reckless, but "oh, well be watching you from now on, bad boy". And now there is even talks about Bab**** getting fined for comments about the refs! Weber said he talked to Shanny and all he said was play to the edge, not over...so I guess we'll see another Steve Moore incident soon enough? Is that really what it will take again to put things into perspective?

@CaptainSuperman I think Weber should be suspended man, I'm not arguing with you. But for the rest of the playoffs is just...absurd. I think you could get suspended from the rest of the playoffs if you killed a guy.

NHL isnt MMA , people dont wanna get beat up. So when you **** with a teams all star, there are consequences. Thats why no one ever ****** with Gretzky or Yerman because of Probert and Semenko

@Anik: I'm not saying he should have, I'm saying IF he did it to the Pens, that's what WOULD happen, going along with the "Pens are favorites" bandwagon. Maybe 'the whole playoffs' is a bit of an exaggeration, but he would have gotten more than a slap on the wrist.

I have nothing against the guy either, he just made a really dumb decision that we know would not be acceptable had one of our players done this. I've seen guys get more punishment for far less while still in the middle of a close game.

@Nik Lust Different times call for different measures. You can't just have a guy who fights all the time, that's a total waste of a roster spot. A guy who can fight AND contribute however, is a guy every team should want and need. As in a Lucic or a Clowe, not ******* Zac Rinaldo.

@Anik i know you hate fighting in hockey, and i respect that, fine. i should have said 'tough guy,' as in the Arron Asham, early Milan Lucic, or Kyle Clifford type. A guy who can at least handle playing with other fourth line guys. The Wings need anyone to do that, because they can't afford to have someone like Zetterberg get his face smashed into the board, and let Weber get away with that. I like watching some of the enforcers of the league fight, but it's a different day in age, unfortunately. Guys like Probert used to contribute quite a bit. Derek Boogaard (no disrespect, may he RIP) went like four years without scoring. The enforcer role is different now, take it however you want, that's just how it is.

Gotcha. I saw Rinaldo play in 2010 when he was with Barrie of the OHL...i'm very surprised he's in the NHL now.

THAT'S THE PROBLEM.

I ******* hate how players get into the NHL because of their boxing abilities over their hockey abilities. There are people with real talent goddamn it that are being passed over for goons.

I don't think there's too many guys out there like that. There might be a few, but i think if you're talented enough, you'll get a spot on an NHL roster at some point in your career.

Fighting is a part of hockey, it always has been. If they scrapped it now it would be like every other sport. They need to eliminate ******* players who target the head before they jump on fighting.
