just watched his interview with Helwani:  http://www.livestream.com/mmahour
he says, as all you know i think, that he wants to get back to UFC and that he would win a fight against anybody not top 5.
his top 5 are Overeem, Dos Santos, Velazquez, Mir and Kongo (if im not mistaken).
he even says he would fight just for the win bonus if thats what it takes.

so how do you guys think he would fare in the new heavyweight division?
(i havent seen any of his fights i think since he lost to Minotauro, i think)

Tim Sylvia is a joke now a days.  No reason why he should get a chance to fight in the UFC when there are probably at least a dozen other potential prospects who are more deserving.  Just because Sylvia used to be a champ doesn't mean the UFC should give him all the opportunities in the world.  He should have to work his way up the ladder just like anybody else.  Bottom line is, he had his chances.

On one hand....Sylvia is a former champ, and he has won 6 of his last 7.  Maybe he should get a chance.

On the other hand....Those losses to Mercer and Wager are pretty bad black marks on his record, and Sylvia was never a fan favorite.  Even as champion he'd usually get boo'd.

I suppose I'm indifferent.  I wouldn't mind seeing them give a former champ another shot, but on the other hand, I completely get it if they decide not to.

Tim Sylvia it´s defenitly not at his prime, but if they gave a chance to Mark Hunt I don´t see why they wouldn´t give it to Sylvia, No to diss Hunt I like the guy, but there are a dozen fighters out there who are better than him and are not fighting in the UFC. I would enjoy watching Sylvia against Schaub, Struve and even Nelson.

I'd rather see a guy like Sean McCorkle back in the UFC than Tim Sylvia.

If you need a good laugh here is a video Tim posted of him training ---- this should help get him in the UFC!!
