just watched his interview with Helwani:  http://www.livestream.com/mmahour
he says, as all you know i think, that he wants to get back to UFC and that he would win a fight against anybody not top 5.
his top 5 are Overeem, Dos Santos, Velazquez, Mir and Kongo (if im not mistaken).
he even says he would fight just for the win bonus if thats what it takes.

so how do you guys think he would fare in the new heavyweight division?
(i havent seen any of his fights i think since he lost to Minotauro, i think)

His last fight was god awful and he said in that interview that 285 is ideal weight I find this to be a joke. Here is my advice to Tim get in serious shape if you want to be taken seriously. I mean guys like Mark Hunt and Big Country can be chunky because we know they come to fight Tim has lost "IT" if he ever had "IT" and I find it sad he nows begs for people(most who just want a RT on twitter) for help.

Man, I like Sylvia. The dude actually wants to fight the best, whether he wins or not is a different thing. Dana is always on about how he likes guys that step up and want to fight. DO YOU WANT TO BE A ******* FIGHTER? lol

Give him a chance, I say. Hell, they let Buentello have another run. Trigg, Baroni, etc.

If he loses, cut him. No biggie.

No reason for dana not to give him one fight and more if he wins unless he has a personal problem with tim because it would be a good financial move for sure.

Why not let Timmy fight? He was the champion of a shallow heavyweight division at the time(UFC), but doesn't hurt the UFC to see how he fares against the animals we have now in the famous Octagon.

Speaking of which, you know who needs a UFC job?

Patrick Cote. Why isn't he in the UFC? He's got one of the 10 best chins in MMA for ****'s sake.

@anik i agree he should be but he lost 3 in a row i dont think he should have got cut but im not the one to make those calls, hes my favorite fighter hands down and now on a 3 fight win streak im hoping for a late 2012 early 2013 return but who knows anything could happen.

Ya um, one of those losses was to Anderson Silva so I look at it as a 2 loss streak that came after a 5 fight win streak.

I remember someone posting awhile back if cote won his next fight hed be invited back but i dont remember the scenario exactly.

On topic, if big tim beats a couple guys that are not just chumps let him back in as an under card guy and see how he does.  Until he beats someone better than a strongman with no gas tank he can sit on the sidelines.

@ Piercerdan
It was me, before his last fight against Crafton Wallace . He won, but because Crafton Wallace  got injured in the first minute of the fight after a slam so... that's not really an impressive win..

I'm sure he'll be back in the UFC if he wins his next fight in Brazil!

Sorry to talk about Patrick Côté in this thread. I'm out.

I rather talk Cote coming to the UFC over Sylvia coming to the UFC any day of the week.

But that's just me.

Dear anyone suggesting Tim Sylvia deserves another chance,

Seriously, have you actually watched any of his fights in the past two years? I don't think you have. He doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the UFC until he actually gets in shape and puts on a decent fight.

"Why not just give him a go, what's the harm?" The UFC needs to have some level of standards to uphold, and to not set the example that any past-his-prime fighter with a twitter account will automatically get another shot that they don't deserve.

Tim if you happen to read this: You're a nice guy, I've met you. I wish you the best.  But get real.

"I live, I die, I live again."
