Dricus about to take the fight to the ground and do what Marvin Vettori tried unsuccessfully in the third round of his title shot. You cannot be a purple belt under Galvao and your only resources be to pray that your opponent makes a mistake or that the clock runs out when you are in bottom position.

Dricus did head and arm throw Robert Whittaker and Whittaker is an all time great for grappling defence

Also Izzy being 1-2 in his last 3, don’t think he’s in his prime anymore , those guys loses and it don’t end well for them

Adesanya went his entire career without being properly tested with someone who has effective takedowns and submission ability. This will be the first. Du Plessis is not dumb, he will go for takedowns and get them easily. Dricus will win via sub or chinning immediately.

Adesanya may have fought Brunson and Whittaker in the past, but both of them mainly had striking gameplans (especially Robert) and were not very effective in finding submissions. Before practicing Kickboxing, DuPlessis started with Judo and during his time at EFC Worldwide and KSW he stood out for knowing when to take fights to the ground and win mostly by submission. Dricus even beat an entire South African Gracie-Barra team only by himself in a Quintet type competition. Despite standing out for his KO power, DDP will undoubtedly be the opponent with the most effective submission offense that Adensanya has ever faced.

Yes, Maybe for based his fighting style in strenght, many of Dricus' transitions and takedowns attempt may look a little cartoonish but everyone can clearly see that he has a refined technique in takedowns and clear strategies in his submission attempts (especially in the last minute of Round 1 in the first fight against Soldic).

i think we see izzy get dominated again but in a complete different way ddp will be the first fighter to succesfully get izzy down to the mat hes also going to be charging foward not playing at izzys pace i could see some back and forth moments with this being a close fight but ddp is keeping the belt

When Du Plessis has defended his title eight times, I'll be impressed.  When he KOs Izzy, I'll be impressed.  Until then, he's just a dude who won a splitty over Sean Strickland.

okay Izzy to start can pick ddp apart on the feet we have seen countless times how sloppy ddp gets but he continues to win because he either lands the power shot or finds the takedown this is a terrible matchup for ddp izzy can continue to pick ddp apart at range and stuff his takedowns break his nose the same way strickland did and ko him with a hard body shot or anderson silva type ko on forrest griffin
