Ashlee Evans-Smith had some... changes. I could hardly care less, but I can't imagine you think that's going to optimize your future as an athlete so I just wonder about her headspace.

Predictions: 8 of 13 Winners, 3 Perfect, 490 Points   |   Tied for 3077th

Holm vs. Bueno Silva
Holly Holm, DEC
Holms style is a really bad stylistic matchup for MBS. I think she struggles with Holms striking, and she will have minimal success attempting to get this fight down to the ground and gets punished trying to do so. 50-45x2, 49-46

Maddalena vs. Hafez
Jack Della Maddalena, TKO, R1
Head Kick TKO. I think JDM might even walk off before he goes for a finish. I think this happens late round although. Perfect timing.

Azaitar vs. Prado
Ottman Azaitar, TKO, R2
Ground and pound TKO, a trend of the night for sure. I think Francisco fades after Ottman walks through some of his power shots. 1st round solidly close, 2nd round domination and finish.

Duraev vs. Park
Jun Yong Park, TKO, R3
Ref steps in, well on the way to being a Uni 30-27/26 type fight. Park finishes this when he can see the ref thinking about it. He delivers accurate powerful ground and pound.

Dumont vs. Chandler
Chelsea Chandler, TKO, R1
Exciting! I think the odds scream Chandler winning personally. I think her last win was fantastic and I think I got to side with the new girl in her 2nd outing against a very game Dumont. TKO Back Mount

McKinney vs. Sadykhov
Terrance McKinney, SUB, R1
LETS GO!!!! No Matter what you know what we're in for. I think Nazim plays a comfortable first round, and that's to a detriment. Terrance times a Head Kick perfectly, hidden behind a feign flurry exchange. He drops Nazim and instantly secures a RNC, to once again cement eventual stardom.

Lutz vs. Baghdasaryan
Melsik Baghdasaryan, DEC
29-28x3 Dec. Lutz wins the first but Melsik I think comes prepared for a very heavy clinch fight.

Nunes vs. Dudakova
Viktoriya Dudakova, TKO, R2
Saved by the bell, and rinse repeat in round 2. First personal lock.

Lingo vs. Costa
Melquizael Costa, DEC
30-27x2 28-29x1 SPLIT Dec. Should be Uni but Lingo has slight success at times.

Valdéz vs. Elder
Genaro Valdéz, DEC
Loses first round, sc****s back to win this handidly by the end of 3. 29-28x3 UNI.

Nam vs. Maksum
Azat Maksum, DEC
29-28 Uni x3 I think the odds are trash and Nam comes to fight, winning a round and maybe making this controversial. However I do not believe UFC made this fight to have Nam win.

Deaton III vs. Munoz
Alex Munoz, SUB, R1
Guillotine. I think Deaton walks into this one quite literally.

Evans-Smith vs. Perez
Ailin Perez, TKO, R3
GnP TKO

Perez/AES- EVANS-SMITH DEC

Bottom 5 overall matchup in ufc history. Perez still twerking to the high of landing the first legal mma strike in history of France. Evans-smith doesn’t twerk about it but she still rides the wave of beating mr fallon fox 10 years ago. Steals important ****. Doesn’t really care about her career anymore but at least shes at least shared the cage with people who try. Hard to take a .500 fighter who hasn’t fought it 3 years and doesn’t care, but I really think perez is as bad as it gets. I very slightly lean evans-smith based on tdd and experience but wouldn’t be surprised either way. Evans-smith at +200 in places has some value

Munoz/Deaton III- MUNOZ DEC

Munoz is the fella that was put in the unwinnable situation of facing nick newell on dwcs (overshadowed by crute, hooper and yusuff/davis that week). He didn’t look great but he did what he had to do to win. Didn’t get a contract but beat a can on the regional scene has had a couple rough matchups in the ufc since. Deaton sucks and shouldn’t be in the ufc

Nam/Maksum- MAKSUM DEC

Nam is a nearly 40 year old powerful flyweight with extremely low output. No offensive wrestling or grappling, just a talented striker who counter shots but has made no attempt over the years to improve. Maksum on the other hand is an extremely intriguing undefeated kazakh prospect who can really do it all. Hes not perfect though, and will have to stay focused at all times to avoid getting chinned. Maksum decision seems likely but there might be some value on Nam by KO, that’s his only chance.

Elder/valdez- ELDER KO 1

Elder is better than his ufc record shows, but he still doesn’t have a win over a solid opponent yet. Valdez is the definition of an unpolished brawler. The first round of his ufc career was insane, I believe he got knocked down 4 times. Even if he suckers elder into a brawl I don’t see him coming out on top. Elder gets the finish and still wont have a win over an established name on his record.

Lingo/Costa- COSTA DEC

Costa filled in adequately for guram as a late notice replacement against Thiago moises in his debut at 155. Hes now back down at his more natural weight and takes on the most average man on the planet. Lingo isn’t particularly bad at anything but he definitely isn’t good at anything either. Power, speed, footwork are all fine from lingo but it really feels like costa is sharper everywhere. I could see a club & sub or just a comfortable decision win.

Dudakova/Nunes- DUDAKOVA SUB 2

I was high on Dudakova coming into this fight, but after watching her contender series fight its obvious she is very green in mma. Her striking is very raw and she just uses it to close distance and get to the clinch. Her offensive wrestling and grappling is very good and she can just bully someone into a takedown. She got taken down and nearly mounted on contender series and was very active off her back in looking for sweeps. She clearly had an issue with her leg/knee at the end of the second round, and she really gutted out the third and was looking for a finish from top control. Nunes is an above average striker for wmma but her cardio is really, really bad. She has no grappling technique and gasses the second the fight goes to the ground. She could cause some issues on the feet early in the first but if it goes to the ground she is completely ******. Gotta lean Dudakova here, youd have to think the 23 year old improves leaps and bounds in between fights. I really really liked the fight to not go the distance when it was +100.

Lutz/Baghdasaryan- BAGHDASARYAN KO 2

It’s pretty obvious what each guy wants here. Lutz needs to take this to the ground immediately to avoid standing with the much more adept striker in melsik. Melsik is really fun to watch on the feet, hes fast, powerful and creative in using all his striking weapons. As good as he is on the feet, hes equally bad on the ground. Has no idea what to do if the fight ends up there and panics to get back to his feet. Lutz on the other hand is just a nothing fighter. He’s like Lingo in that nothing in particular stands out. Not being able to take down pineda in his last fight was a bad look. Feels like melsik melts him despite still working with rondas old ****** coach

Mckinney/sadykhov- SADYKHOV KO 2

Normally I’d just say to fade mckinney here. Hes extremely overrated and after 0.5 rounds hes barely ufc-caliber. He’s a problem in the first couple minutes though, throwing reckless strikes and mixing in slams and dynamic takedowns. It takes a very specific type of matchup to make mckinney look good and luckily for him I actually think this is one of them. Sadykhov stays in the pocket a little too long and throws bombs. If he’s smart he will circle away from mckinneys power and just let him gas out but the dude really seems to enjoy fire fights. His defense on the ground isn’t amazing and I wouldn’t be surprised if mckinney gets the early RNC. I’ll probably go back and forth on this one but for now im leaning sadykhov.

Dumont/Chandler- DUMONT DEC

Close fight to call. Dumont has as much experience at 145 as anyone and although shes not super exciting she does seem to improve every appearance she makes. Shes light on her feet and throws with enough power that it should be the difference in this fight. Chandler is probably the more natural 145er so if her striking has improved she could pitter patter from the outside but I expect Dumont to get the better of chandler on the feet and stuff some weak takedowns. Dumont via dump truck

Duraev/Park- PARK DEC

I cant figure duraev out. Is he good at wrestling? Sometimes he really seems to live up to his intimidating last name but other times he looks completely lost out there. I was very surprised he basically beat Chidi on the feet because I can’t figure out if hes a good striker either. The dude has been blasted several times so his durability is an issue here. Park on the other hand is a fun guy to watch. Hes a brawler/grinder with a good gas tank and a good chin, both of which I think could be the difference. He’s at a slight wrestling disadvantage if duraev decides to move the fight in that direction but I think he squeaks out a close decision (even though duraevs face will be an absolute mess as per usual).

Azaitar/Prado- PRADO KO 2

Azaitar has good wins over bad opponents. Good power but is easily hittable. As many know now, hes best buds with the King of Morocco to the point where the king has been criticized for ignoring his kingly duties. There is no way azaitar gives a **** about fighting anymore. That’s an instant fade for me, so ill take prado inside distance despite him not being that great either.

JDM/Hafez- DELLA MADDALENA KO 1

If flat nose jack looks sluggish ill blame it on multiple weight cuts and random opponents but it shouldn’t matter. JDM sends Hafez to the land of Val Woodburns and Jesse Butlers. Enjoy the 12k show money Bassil

Holm/Silva- HOLM DEC

We all know Holly. Bodied-up 60 year old still living off the momentum of the ronda KO nearly 35 years ago. She actually deserves some props- she started as a one-dimensional boxer, eventually became a one-dimensional kickboxer, and now shes started to throw takedowns into her game to round it all out. Her fight IQ has improved as well, and she really seems to know where she stands during the fight and between rounds. One of these days holly will finally fight like someone her age and with her mileage but I don’t think that’s this Saturday. Bueno silva is.. a fighter on the roster I guess? She has above average grappling and powerful striking and uses aggression to get opponents off of their game. I don’t like that style against a smart counter striker in holm, but if she gets her to the ground holly could be in real trouble. I actually think Holly wins the striking exchanges and seals each round with a late takedown. Silva isn’t a huge threat off her back and I don’t believe in bottom jiu jitsu anyway. Holm 4 ish’s to 1

AES vs. Perez is going to be some of the worst striking we watch as MMA fans all year. AES is definitely live in that fight because her opponent is just as bad as she is. But there's just soooo many red flags. USADA suspension, plastic surgery, haven't won a fight in 5 years and 1-4 in her last 5 overall.

I have no dogs picked in any of these 4 WMMA fights at the moment and I'm definitely questioning that.

Not necessarily, you hit the e and the I almost simultaneously while typing friends. I really hope it's not true though and that it's not all just one guy playing out multiple characters on Tap over the course of months maybe years. That would be.. pretty dysfunctional and alarming.

istela fought against a tough Carnelossi and same with Sam Hughes. Yes they outlasted her but they were first two UFC fights and she was actually ahead at a point. She actually knocked Yasmin Jauregui down in that loss. dudakova has fought exactly zero competition. Some league in Belarus? And the girl she beat in contender series got a second chance, won the fight, and still never got a UFC contract so she clearly isn’t that good. Everyone entitled to their opinion I just personally think a bunch of you guys will be surprised when Dudakova is too slow and can’t get Nunes to the mat

Ailin Perez, DEC
Ailin Perez was +200 against Stephanie Edgar and was finished. Evans-Smith level of competition is higher, and the line has moved maybe too wide but still not enough for me. Ailin should have the tank to be live late for a finish if not 15 minute whooping.

@hennycmoney
ariane carnelossi had attempted 0 takedowns in her UFC career before fighting Istela and basically took her down anytime she went for a single leg, even with Istela grabbing the cage literally 3 times. Even if Dudakova doesn’t have good striking I think she can literally just walk forward until Istela hits the cage because she’s doesn’t have the power to keep her away. She was landing 100% clean shots to Carnelossi and was just getting walked down with no regard.

It’s women’s mma so like definitely could see Dudakova maybe just being a fraud and losing here but I’m pretty confident that she should be able to get takedowns pretty much at will.
