Mauricio Lara is a ****** MADMAN!!! I love him! What Leigh Wood has done in his last few fights is amazing too! I will never ever forget that Conlan fight and the amazing 12th round 1 punch KO knocked him out the ring stoppage!!!! Wow!!!
I really wanted to see Leigh get the big fight vs Leo Santa cruz because man deserved a big US payday! But you're giving me this wee Mexican maniac vs 1 of the biggest punchers in the UK (for his weight!). LET'S FOOKIN GO!!!!!!

@Mikey wood vs Conlan was one of the most enjoyable fights I've seen in years. Instant classic. That twelfth round KO...holy ****. The way Conlan just slumped through the ropes and into the crowd. Brutal.

Official!! Wood vs Lara is a banging match up!!! My early feeling is I'm kinda worried for Leigh. He's way too willing to get involved in a Brawl, Lara punches WAY harder than Conlan and you just aren't going to outbrawl this mad Mexican!!!!
Also some decent co features. Terri Harper jumping up from 135lbs all the way to 154lbs!!! To face Scotlands only ever female World Champion Hanna Rankin, you know who I'm backing here!!! It is safe to say Harper is the more skilled boxer but she's jumping up a lot!!! 20lbs, Nearly 2 stone, 4 weight classes (in boxing). Size and strength may be too much.
Also Maxi Hughes, who is the most improved UK boxer in the past couple of years
Went from losing, getting stopped in British title fights to defeating World ranked contenders, undefeated Kazahks, Mexican bangers and the best from the UK.
He faces Kid Galahad who is coming back from losing his World Title in a HUGE upset, probably the biggest of 2021, by Kiko Martinez. It isn't just the huge upset loss its the way he lost. An absolutely brutal 1 punch out cold, twitching on the canvas KO! Many fighters are never the same. Kid was a genuine World level talent, top 5 in the world, again, question is will he be be the same fighter? Very interesting fight.
I really like this card. There is 1 thing that I don't like about it. Its on the same day as Joe Joyce vs Joseph Parker, also in the UK. That undercard is stacked too with Amanda Serrano attempting to unify the Featherweight division and also 2 British title fights.
Why do rival Promotions do this ****???!!!! Why would you put on really good cards the same day??? There is only so many boxing fans, why make them chose between 1 another?? Surely they should have the sense to put them on different days days when they can get the audience to themselves. So ****** stupid and it's all just down to pettiness. The Eddie Hearn Frank Warren rivalry is so bad for boxing in the UK. We have missed out on many fights because boxers are not allowed to fight on a rival Promotions broadcast. They do petty **** like this too!!! Anyway, rant over!!!!

Definitely a tough fight to pick but I'm going with Lara. Leigh's chin is a prawn cracker. The other thing is he got decked by one of those ridiculous hooks Conlan throws, which doesn't bode well against Lara who seems to throw virtually nothing else. And yes, he does tend to get baited into brawls. Think Lara stops him TBH.
Bad choice of opponent to take for Leigh in an optional. All that said Lara is pretty much untested, he's never fought a good puncher and who knows what he looks like in the deeper rounds.
