Damn, I'm a Van fan but I like Rocha too. Both of them have great potential. I think this fight is going to be a firework that would elevate both fighter's stock.

Kinda feels like ufc is punishing him for the weight miss last season lol. I also think rocha is solid but this is a bad fight for him. Hes still relatively green and now gets to face a killer

I know they aren’t the same weight class but I have a feeling Bondar beats Johnson if they fought. He was entertaining at least. No idea why Johnson is even on the roster tbh. I also wonder if Vergara is cut next. Wouldn’t surprise me.

Definitely a very tough debut. But I don't think it's unwinnable. Lucas is pretty good on the feet and is very athletic and fast. I think Rocha's movement and speed would give Van problems. Joshua is very fast with his strikes but not so much with his footspeed, just not very light on his feet. He kinda plods forward.
Also, we got robbed of 5'3 Rocha vs 6'0 Johnson. That fight would've been funny to see because of the ridiculous height difference.

I need to rewatch his tape but I remember Rocha getting dropped and losing some rounds to subpar competition on the regionals. Hes hella young so not really a problem, but just means he might not be ready for someone as talented as van

Bondar, Lacerda, and Garcia UFC records combined together were 0-12. I don't understand why the UFC keeps dudes once they go 0-3. Mendecona is the only one I can see making it back to the UFC considering he was in a close decision that a lot of people saw him winning but 0-3 is still 0-3. Saldana isn't bad but his fight IQ and discipline is horrendous

Does that mean Stoliarenko and Belbita are still on the roster?

The PFL seasons actually look quite good this year. I am still a little nervous about the Vegas event though. Wilkinson fighting in Vegas again after popping last year and missing the whole season.

He will probably lose anyways. Phil Davis is a really tough fight for anyone and if Wilkinson is off the steroids he definitely won’t look the same; the difference from his ufc run to pfl run is night and day

True but he is also up a weight class from his ufc days. Not crazy that he would still be looking bigger if he's not cutting 30 lbs to make MW. Idk if Davis wins though. He's been around forever at this point.

Petrino is so strange to me. Hes got insane physical qualities and his wrestling legitimately impresses me but I still think he has a long way to go. He can’t fight technical at all, his chin is a little suspect, struggles at range, and I still think his grappling g needs work
That being said, Anthony smith is beyond shot. He can’t take a punch anymore and it honestly doesn’t look like he enjoys fighting. Petrino probably just takes him down and ****s him up. I could see smith landing on him and maybe even wobbling him if they start brawling, but I don’t imagine he has the chin anymore to take a flush shot from vitor. IMO, smith should’ve campaigned for the guskov fight; much easier fight for him and also it would be funny if he fought his clone

I agree about Petrino, I think he's too green and needs more time to develop a fuller understanding of all the fine details in different situations.
I think a fight with Cutelaba (maybe) would make more sense, just to get some more time

I was thinking the same thing. Petrino looked horrific in the last fight. Maybe Smith saw some flaws that he thinks he can exploit and get a cheap win out of it. I agree it would be hilarious for him to fight Guskov. Do it for the fans Lionheart!!!
