Leading up to Harrison's free agency, it seemed the next step for her would be to fight Nunes or Cyborg. From Harrison's own declarations and her signing the more lucrative Bellator deal, it is certain Harrison wants to fight Cyborg next not Nunes. Makes sense to me because Bellator currently has more featherweights for Harrison to fight.

However, I am glad that the PFL decided to match her contract offer and bring her back. This signing will help the PFL to continue to grow. I also see a path for a super fight with Cyborg in the future, ignoring Coker's recent dismissal. I hope other fighters see that taking more money might be more important than furthering a legacy. This choice was forced upon Harrison but maybe others will see the intelligence in not chasing legacy to the UFC. The best fighters spread across several different promotions will benefit the fighters and the fans in the long run.

I honestly think the only reason she didn't sign with the UFC is because Amanda lost to Pena and now the "big money fight" is off the table. Sure they could have tried to make Amanda vs Kayla at FW, or sign Kayla and have her wait, but that's probably where they couldn't come to any agreements and the money didn't make sense. Had Amanda beat Pena, even in a boring ass decision, I think Kayla would have probably signed with the UFC for the super fight.

The thing is any contract she signed the PFL was probably going to match it and Harrison did not have a choice. It is genius by the PFL.
