Theres probably been many cases where a coach told a fighter to do that and sometimes its probably needed but with jones and the strong feelings of a less than honest character make it seem incredibly forced and fake.

That being said, he shouldn't be dishonest about himself to make said fans. Actively TRYING to make fans is actually hurting him, it seems. He should just be himself and the fans'll come on their own. Most can still respect a guy who's ****y. They can't respect a guy who pretends he isn't.
