It's not that uncommon for Kickboxers or Muay Thai fighters to transition over to Boxing and do very well. The most interesting ones are perhaps Mairis Briedis, Povetkin, Galaxy brothers, and Vitali Klitschko. Tenshin can probably compete at a very high level.

It's a shame though considering Tenshin's probably the most skilled kickboxer, but I doubt he'd be making this move if he was making money at Rizin, and/or ONE FC. Glory doesn't have a division small enough for him to compete at either.

I never said I didn't think he'd be great at boxing, Tenshin is going to whoop on some people for sure. But he has a rolling thunder KO for god's sake, that's never gonna happen again if he switches to boxing.

Sorry Fisty, I'll @ the guy I'm responding too. I was actually responding to Eggling's comment about Tenshin being turned into a 'dishwaher' when he finally fights a solid ranked boxer. If he takes it seriously he can become a very good boxer, he has the footwork, speed and hand combinations to make it happen.

I like Tenshin in boxing he can use his skills and hone hands.
learning grappling will be harder and personally think he is too small even for 125 those duded cut a lot of weight.
I am speaking of world class competition not Asia regionals.

Counter counter point. If you don't give a **** then why comment??? Haha

Also how many great fights has he had in J kickboxing??? He fought Rodtang once, lost was gifted a decision and never dared utter the word rematch! Also him vs Takeru has not been made despite being the biggest Kickboxing fight in Japan for years!  His kickboxing career mainly consists of styling on guys with no chance of challenging him!

Counter counter counter point.

I don't really give that much of a ****e either!!! Haha kickboxing ain't really my thing

It's not that I don't give a **** about the subject. I just don't give a **** that he'll make more money boxing. That's not an incentive for me as a fan to want to see him move to boxing, and I'm not interested in seeing him limit himself to purely hand striking, given how much of a diverse and dynamic striker he is, by becoming a boxer. He's a proven commodity and prospect in MMA. Not in boxing. He'll never be a boxing can. But he'll never achieve in boxing what he could in MMA.

There's enough boxers and boxing prospects in the world. I'd prefer him to stay in MMA, where he is needed, and I can watch him rip out insane mortal kombat-esque death strikes.

Mikey, Tenshin has asked for the Rodtang rematch...
Tenshin defeated 3-division Lumpinee stadium Champion Suakim, Shiro, Amnat, Rui, Yuta, Kouzi, and Masahiko Suzuki. He also has some notable wins in the amateurs as well. Also I will die on the hill that is that Tenshin under Kickboxing rules defeated Rodtang. Rodtang for large part was punching air or glove while getting styled on.

Tenshin and Takeru want to fight, however K-1 has been accused of putting Takeru in a predatory contract and the main reason why the fight can not happen;

"On March 16, 2018, RISE president Takashi Ito, former K-1 fighter Hiroya and his lawyer, accused K-1 Japan Group's exclusive contract, illegal based on the competition law. Hiroya's lawyer told the media, that the way K-1's contract work makes you not fight for a year for your contract to expire. Every fight you make with the organization, extends your contract for another year from your last fight and the only way to get out of the contract is not get paid for a year. Hiroya cites this as the reason why Segawa could not fight Nasukawa as he knows Segawa as a friend and will not back down to a fight."

Wasn't meant to be a **** with that comment by the way bud. Just me trying to be funny.

I really don't follow kickboxing, my knowledge is based of little clips on twitter and sometimes watching a fight on a ONE or Rizin, even then I usually skip through them.

I consume a **** tonne of Boxing and MMA, my brain doesn't have room for anything else!

I didn't post the Takeru vs Tenshin thing as a dig, or own against you. Thought you be genuinely interested. A friendly rivalry actually lead to I believe a number of lawsuits and claims of malpractice, etc. Tenshin seems interested when he was Kickboxing to get a lot of those fights; Takeru, Rodtang, Asahisa, etc. but it seems like contractual barriers have stifled all of them.

I sure he hated all of that when doing Kickboxing, lucky for him Boxing suffers none of those issues!

I know.

I can't really get down with kickboxing/muay thai either. Likewise, I'll literally never go out of my way to watch either. Not sure why. I don't have a sensible explanation.
