Derek Brunson should get a title fight

I don't think there is an argument against this. He has a winning streak against top contenders. He beat Holland, who went on to fight the next title challenger. If Till would have won, he most likely would have gotten a shot.

He has beef with Adesanya so there is a storyline. Plus everyone else either doesn't have the resume or has fought Adesanya more recently than Brunson. Lastly Brunson has shown during his winning streak that he is working on a style that would matchup greatly with the current champion. 

If his next fight isn't Adesanya, there are a number of fights that should help him get to title shot next. Cannonier is a tough ask for anyone and a win over him would surely guarantee a championship fight next.  If he fought the winner of Costa/Vettori, that would be #1 contender fight. Even fighting the winner of Strickland/Rockhold should get him a title shot.

If I were making the decisions, I would give him the winner of Whittaker/Adesanya. 

However if either Strickland or Rockhold have a very strong performance at MSG, I believe the UFC will leapfrog them to the front of the line.

I also see the possibility of an interim belt since the fight between Adesanya and Whittaker is being delayed.

Very interesting match ups in the future of the UFC middleweight division.
