Honestly, not really. I only know 2 openings that I constantly use and then once that parts done I just try to make the most logical moves I can based on what they do. As long as you memorise the legal moves for each piece then the rest is just due to practice. Having said that, I'm still a fairly **** player given how long I've been playing it on and off for.
