We are in a brief intermission. President Jimmy Burchfield has stepped into the cage for a few announcements. He is asking the audience not to fight each other. Apparently there has been a few scraps in the audience at the last couple CES matches at Twin River.

Dinis “Sweet Bread” Paiva Jr. (1-1) vs. Cliff Moulton (Pro Debut) – Bantamweight

Denis has a huge hometown following behind him and red shorts that say “Sweet Bread” on them. This guy is winning already.

Round 1:

Moulton immediately shoots for a take down. Paiva defends. the two reset. Paiva lands a heavy right hand.  The two then exchange some combos. Moulton shoots again, deflected. Moulton rushes in for a combo Paiva turns at around landing crazy head shots. Moulton took alot of puninshment before he was able to seperate. He tries to shoot again Paiva blocks it and takes him down. the two struggle for position, as they are about to seperate Pavia lands a perfect uppercut sending Moulton’s head back and the rest of him into the cage. He rushes in to capitalize on it. They clinch Pavia gets his back and slams him down hard. He follows up raining punches.  Moulton covers up and after some major blows is able to get back to his feet. The two clinch again. Moulton shoots for a double leg take down and Cliff knees him in the face, an illegal strike on a down opponent. The ref stops the fight and immediately deducts one point. Moulton is unable to continue the match. He is being looked at by doctors right now.

The sad thing here is “Sweet Bread” actually raises his hands like he won something. He later apologizes to his fans and to Moulton for the strike after the announcements are made.  Moulton’s corner was livid.

Winner: Cliff Moulton  by disqualification  (illegal  knee strike to a downed opponent)

So how does that count? Moulton 1st round TKO or does it just count as a Moulton win. Or does it not count at all?
