dude how did people convince themselves that greg hardy losing unanimously 30-27 to volkov on short notice makes him an underrated fighter

i wonder what happens if fighters, corner men or ufc crew get the virus because of this show? im going to watch obviously, but i really think its a bad idea.

I hope for one thing on This card..

And its i hope all fighters whom show up and fight and make weight put on the best performances of their career and no ******** snoozers just to get a decision win and all fighters are paid higher than usual salarys due to the current situation and risks. But over all im glad theres a card this month totally worth getting excited for. Hope no bone head politicians in California do anything to ruin it. And if joe rogan dont wanna do his job on the commentary, cool...he can be easily replaced.

**** ESPN and **** California for forcing this to be cancelled. I know I might be in the minority on this one, but for **** sake we can't just have the entire world stop and have no semblance of normalcy to try and carry us through this. As long as the UFC follows strict protocols and carry the event out safely on Indian reservations, 249 should have continued as planned.

I agree with Hornet. Everyone thinks about the human cost, but nobody thinks about the economic consequences of essentially shutting down entire industries. Economics has a human cost...it is the single greatest driver of the human experience. No economy, no civilization. It's really that simple.

@fish and the emotinal cost also because being lock inside all day can't be good for us and i wouldn't be suprise if the suicide and depression rate has gotten higher. me for example is going crazy being lock up and im not the happiest because of it and im super close to becoming Homer

Interestingly, poverty has, in recent years, increasingly become the top priority amongst public health officials in America. So what's the response to the current public health crisis? Unemploy 16+ million people in 3 weeks, with the intention of laying off millions more in the coming weeks. The current malaise has no end in sight and the talking points from some pundits/experts is so extremely dire that hopelessness will be inevitable for some segments of the population.

I honestly don't know what the right answer to all of this is; however, if the last 5+ years of pointed talks at tackling economic distress as the number one public health goal, then it's difficult to say that the "cure" being enacted for COVID-19 is clearly better than the disease.

So now does Gaethje still get an interim title shot? That gold means a whole lot to him, even if it's interim. Or do they just do Khabib-Tony later this year and say f the fake belt? If Khabib-Tony happens next then is Gaethje guaranteed the winner of that (absolute shortest turnaround-time for everyone involved gives Justin a 16 month gap between fights in this scenario) or do we think he's gonna have to fight Conor for a #1 contender spot? Many questions now, strange circumstances with all the shuffling that happened, just for it to ultimately get cancelled.
